Serving PA, Shamrock Chimney will provide you with a dedicated approach to ensure your chimney is kept clean and safe. Our team provides chimney solutions for every problem, protecting homes from dangers of leaking chimneys and flues. Call us today to schedule your next appointment.

"Used a shop vac to sweep what they did get out, leaving a coat of dust on everything in our living room. Used 1 sponge they wet once to clean. We were quoted $75, with multiple discussions on what they could do. Explained all the $75 was for inspection and sweep from the top of chimney, which we had removed last year. $600 for a deep cleaning and then tried to charge $1200. If this was a deep cleaning, I ll eat my hat. We signed contract with no amount on it."

Hello, we are a small a company that values the customer satisfaction. we have over 30 years experience in the heating and cooling trade. we handle all aspects of the job including service, install, repair and modification. give us a call and we will take care of your needs.

"In November 2019 we had TWO furnaces installed in our home by ARROWHEAD MECHANICAL of Northwood, Ohio. The owner being Mr. Jack Skaggs. When both were installed we Paid Mr. Skaggs in full. He promised to return and remove the old furnaces and clean up misc. debris. After no show of about 3-5 days we tried to call him about the mess he left. He would not take our calls! I was mystified because we had no friction to our knowledge. About June 1st we got some warm days so I turned on the air conditioner upstairs. (The furnace is located in the attic.) A short time later my wife discovered water dripping thru the ceiling. Called Mr. Skaggs who promised to stop by that eve. or next day. That was in 5/27/20. Again, no show! I called another HVAC co. They came and repaired the problem in about 1 hr. on 6/2/20. They said it was improper installation of furnace. The following are notes copied from their invoice: Notes: System is in attic Horizontal installation of furnace in attic Furnace was replaced last fall by another company Customer has water damage in ceiling of 2nd floor right below the exit of the evaporator coil When turned AC on for first time this spring the water spot appeared in ceiling Upon further investigation found evaporator coil not level and allowing water to collect in drain pan properly and not draining and spilling over Leveled evaporator with slight tilt toward the drain System will drain properly now Returned system to normal operation I am still left with some minor ceiling water damage, and an additional $95 bill I should not have had to pay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ARROWHEAD MECHANICAL FOR ANY WORK. This experience has led me to believe their workmanship is poor, their word is no good, their warranty is not worth the paper it is written on, and the integrity of the owner is very questionable!"

"I paid Mr. Phomalee $1275 to do some bathroom remodeling work that he'd initially stated he'd be able to begin between Christmas and New Years this past December. After not showing up at that time, he proceeded to promise that work would begin on eight separate dates, missing all of them. During this time I received no communication from Mr. Phomalee unless I initiated it, and when I did he made an excuse related to his vehicle or family each time. Finally, I informed Mr. Phomalee that I needed him to return the funds paid to him as it had become clear he had no intention of doing the work for which he had been contracted. He informed me at that time that his previous excuses had been lies, that he had used the money I'd paid him for gambling, and that he most recently had not been able to due the work because he'd been trying to secure a loan to cover "the bad checks [he] had written to gamble so [he] didn't go to jail". So, I'm now in a position where I've had an unusable shower for two months, and will be forced to seek legal action against Mr. Phomalee to attempt to recover my money."

Gas Fireplace Repair questions, answered by experts

Knowing who to hire to install your fireplace is important when it comes to having a safe place to burn a fire in your home. The best person to contact for installing fireplaces is a mason or general contractor who has a National Fireplace Institute (NFI) specialist certification. If you’re installing wood paneling, then it’s a good idea to also find a pro who is Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT)-certified.

Both of these certifications show that your pro is well-equipped to install fireplaces and inspect your home for the utmost safety.

Hard materials like glass, metal, and hardwood floors, washable fabrics, and undamaged electrical appliances can often be salvaged after a fire, although it depends on the extent of the damage. For washable fabrics, make sure to use a phosphate mix during the washing process to extract the smoke smell. There are a few things you should throw away after a fire, like canned foods and cosmetics, even if they don’t look like they’re damaged.

The downsides of brick staining include a complex process and lengthy application. Also, if your brick is damaged or already contains a non-porous sealant or paint, staining won’t be an option as it won’t be able to absorb properly.

If you’re deciding between limewash versus whitewash, know that both have a chalky matte appearance. Limewash is made from lime, water, and sometimes pigment, while whitewash consists of lime, water, white chalk, and binders (though you can get a similar look with watered-down white paint). Whitewash has fewer options for color customization, and it sits on surfaces instead of being absorbed into them, which can trap moisture. Whitewashing costs less—about $1.40 to $4.20 per square foot.

If you want to avoid damaging your home's brick, you should always use a stain specifically formulated for masonry projects. These stains are designed to penetrate the porous surface of the brick and bond with it, unlike paints, which sit on the surface and are prone to peeling and flaking. Look for stains labeled for use on brick or other masonry surfaces. Avoid using regular paint on brick, as it will not adhere well and will likely lead to future maintenance issues.
