During the demolition, Johnâ s team found mold behind the shower walls. They advised us of the situation, and instead of covering it back up, they removed all harmful mold before proceeding. John was accommodating, working with us so we had either a shower or tub to use during the remodel. That was important to us. John and his crew were very easy to work with. They were always on time and accommodating. We are very pleased with the final results. The custom glass shower door is awesomeâ better than we expected."

No, the pink ring in your toilet bowl isn’t a hard water stain but a type of bacteria called Serratia marcescens. This bacteria can also cause pinkish stains in other areas of your bathroom, like around your tub, shower curtains, and faucets. Thankfully, it’s considered to be harmless. However, if you or anyone in your household is immunocompromised, it can cause issues like urinary tract infections. You can clean the pink ring with bleach and a plastic brush. Wear gloves and goggles when using bleach, and always work in a well-ventilated room.

This scenario is unlikely but technically possible. Clogs that result from water-soluble materials like toilet paper or human waste may eventually break down in the water and allow the water and waste to flow freely once again. A more likely scenario is that you’ll have to learn how to unclog a toilet or call a plumber.

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl.
