Saturday morning, one of Robert's people, Steve, called at 7:55am - he was in our driveway and wanted to let us know he was on the job. He dug down, found the line beyond the broken section was plugged, but above the break (towards the house) was clear. Before long, Steve was hip deep in questionable fluids (hey I'm trying to be diplomatic here!), and discovered that yes, indeed we DO have a clean out! Too bad it was located in our neighbor's yard. Truth be told, it was on our property but the (ehem) gentleman who built our subdivision was of the mind in the late 60s that a simple wave of his arm dictated where the property lines were, and well, that's where the surveyor pins went. ANYway, after getting approval from our neighbor to dig on their side of our fence to find the next section of old, original clay tile pipe that wasn't broken, Steve ended up digging at least another few hours. By hand. In a swamp. With big mosquitos. He made a supplies list and left. A few hours later, he's back at it - running the electric eel on both sides of the break. The hunks of broken clay tile that the original builders laid, patched with concrete and covered with shingles that Steve unearthed were MASSIVE. Once he found a good section (ie: not broken) of clay pipe in the middle of our neighbor's yard, he hit a stopping point. It would need more pipe and fittings to connect different size and makes of pipe - but he was leaving us with a clear running water sewer until the specialty pipe shops opened on Monday. Monday morning, Steve called again from the driveway, ready to finish the job. He put a clean out in our yard (I'm thinking of painting it and giving it a good Appalachian double name, something like Bobby Steve... "Now, [dog name], don't you go out there and pee on Bobby Steve!"), filled in both the neighbor's side of the repair and ours and buttoned everything up. He was finished by noon! We couldn't be more pleased with the work, professionalism and genuine care Smith and Sons (and crew) showed us in what was truly a nasty and embarrassing, yet human, situation. I've told everyone who asks about the true gem we came across thanks to Angie's List. It was suppose to be approximately 30 days till they would be able to do the job. They did not start till 6/14/2011. I had been told the job would take 4 days it was done to their satisfaction in 2 days. I was not able to see the job they were doing in the daylight due to my work schedule. When they told me they were done and I saw it in the daylight it I was to say the least a shock. There were long nails protruding from all the visible wood on the house. They were very noticeable under the eaves and the top of the porches. And then there was all the wood that had been knocked out and splintered as a result of those nails. Where the roof meets the sides of the house there were several places with big gaps that were very visible. It was also obvious that they had used my patio table as a sawhorse as well. I told Jeremy Phillips this was unacceptable they had ruined my house in the process of putting on a roof. He kept claiming manufacturer's warranty required that length of nail. He said he would fix the problem and ask what I wanted done. I told him the only thing that would fix this mess was soffit otherwise when we painted we would eventually have the look of icicles on our house due to dripping paint. He wanted to us to pay more money to fix his mistake. This dialogue continued till 6/2012. Then he said he wanted to bill us 600.00 to replace the gutters, and the 847.00 that remained for the roofing job itself (that I did not pay after seeing my house he had already received 5140.00) and his total that he arrived at with what was still owed and to replace our existing gutters was 2600.00. In other words we were going to pay for the soffit to fix the mess his crew created. He ask for money up front and I told him no of course I had already given the money to him before and I am stuck with a mess. I told him the minute the job was done he would have his money. I never heard from him again. I never contacted him again because honestly I really did not want his company to touch my house again. I should have sued this company. I did get my house repaired at the cost of 2000.00 by a reputable contractor who did a wonderful job that I am very pleased with. If you are looking for a professional contractor or just want the job done right don't use this company. Pool Table Assembly reviews from real Angi homeowners in New Boston, OH
Workers came on time every day until the work was complete. I felt very safe with them in my home on a daily basis. I enjoyed the design ideas that were brought to the table. I also appreciated the contract and and they were very close to staying on budget.
My home is on a hill. We have an (unused) inground swimming pool. If any work was to be done in the back yard, it would have to be done by hand. There's just no way to get heavy equipment or even a pick-up truck into the yard without possibly crushing the web of drains and pipes and lines...

FAQs for pool table assembly projects in New Boston, OH
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. The pro’s experience level and your location also factor into how much a handyman charges per hour or per project. You can also expect to pay higher rates or additional fees for emergency services, or around periods of high customer demand, like holidays.
Tipping a handyman is not a requirement or necessarily expected, as they should build a fair wage into the price of the job. However, some people will tip a handyman around $10 to $20 per hour or the equivalent of a day’s pay, depending on the size of the job. But it’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping a handyman service, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip, it’s encouraged and will likely be received with thanks.
Do you have any before and after photos of your work?
How long have you been doing this kind of work?
Do you clean up and dispose of waste when the job is finished?
Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
