"Great!! This is the 2nd time I have used SEJohnson Painting. The first time they removed wallpaper, patched plaster walls and painted my living and dining room, ceilings and fireplace. This time they painted all the interior walls and the doors and ceilings. The entrance to my foyer is about 18 ft. high. They painted the spindle stairway. There was no splashing. Great taping job. They cleaned the area well. But most important is that Justin and his crew were courteous, respectful, approachable, on time. They were a well-oiled machine. I can't say enough about them. Jennifer, their secretary was always pleasant , courteous, and helpful. Now the house looks fresh, bright. It is just amazing what a coat of paint can do! THANK YOU!!!"

"Talk about Fish customer service! We purchased a beautiful Durham solid wood bedroom set from Fish Furniture over 20 years ago. Despite the age of this set, we continue to appreciate the exceptional quality and timeless style of this Fish purchase. Unfortunately over twenty years the set was showing some stain/finish wear and tear primarily around the bases from vacuum cleaners, dogs and five relocations. We initially contacted a local refinishing business to see if they could perform the repairs, but they didn’t provide an in-home service and would require the set be brought to the shop. On a whim, I thought I’d contact Fish to see if they were aware of someone that they would recommend. To my surprise, they said they ABSOLUTELY could, as they had a person on their staff for 30 years that did this sort of work for their Fish customers!! This is a 20 year old purchase! Within a week they had Bob out who was able to bring these pieces back to their original beauty and we could not be more pleased. Fish Furniture takes care of their customers! Thank You!!"

For small, simple pieces that aren’t antiques, a professional furniture refinisher can usually refinish a piece in two to three hours, while larger pieces—like bed frames and full dining sets—could take several days. Your refinishing professional should be able to give you an estimated timeline for the work before getting started so that you can plan to be without your furniture during the process. Antique furniture might require additional time and take a week or more to refinish, as they require special care to avoid damage.

Vinegar won’t strip the wood stain from your wood, but it can help remove a different type of stain. If you’re dealing with food stains or trying to remove water rings on your wood, you can use a little olive oil and vinegar (mixed equally) to remove those stains without stripping your actual wood stain. Just rub the solution in the direction of the wood grain, let it sit, and then wipe it away with a damp towel.

Ongoing maintenance of your leather furniture is the only way to prevent it from peeling and cracking. Real leather will peel and crack as it dries out. Leather conditioners are a great way to protect your leather furniture from drying out, and you’ll need to apply it about twice each year.
