"During our Kitchen remodel, it was determined that a drain from our 2nd floor needed to be relocated to accommodate our cabinets. From the first call to Plumb Tite to the end of the project, everyone was extremely friendly, attentive to my needs, and identified the best solution. The gentlemen that performed the work treated me like a friend and neighbor, and listened to my needs and performed their work in a professional manner. They suggested a solution and told me what was being done every step of the way. When finished, they cleaned up, checked their own work, and were on their way. We are now good to continue on our remodel due to their work. I would definitely recommend Plumb Tite for your plumbing needs. Great Job!"

"Good results in clearing my drain from kitchen island. It took a lot of effort to succeed. But it’s still very good some 3 weeks post job. They cleaned up after too."

"He was polite and professional and clean, but couldn't clear the clog. We had to call another company who did clear it. So we ended up paying twice for the one clog."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

An active cleaning agent and a drain snake is the best way to clean a main sewer line. You can purchase a regular or enzyme drain cleaner or make a DIY drain cleaner with baking soda. Use your chosen solution at least once a month or as needed to keep your sewer line clear.

Yes, chemical drain cleaners contain sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, both of which are not only dangerous to your health but also extremely caustic. Drain cleaners will corrode your pipes and could lead to destroyed drain lines, especially if the chemicals interact with the piping for long periods. Unfortunately, this extended interaction is likely if you’re dealing with a clog, as the drain cleaner will have just as much trouble as water does moving through your plumbing system.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.
