I paid him $135.00 and he never returned to repair my washer. He hasn't returned my voicemail messages or responded to my email requesting a response. UPDATE: Provider stole the water pump. Now, I must buy another water pump + pay for another provider to repair my washer."

Large, high-value appliances are worth repairing, especially when the fixes are minor and the appliance is only a few years old. In most cases, appliance warranties do not transfer to new owners. However, some exceptions apply. To check the status of your appliance warranty and whether you can transfer it when you move, review the terms and conditions of your warranties or consult your home warranty service. When purchasing a new appliance or one from a previous owner, be sure to pay attention to its warranty status, including the type of coverage and any exclusions.
The cost of home appliances ranges from $350 to $8,000 or more, depending on the brand, type of appliance, and features. Additional cost factors include any hookups that need to be installed, such as gas, plumbing, or electrical. Keep in mind that major appliances, such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, and water heaters, will cost more than minor appliances, such as microwaves, due to the size, complexity, and essential nature of the item.
