"When no one locally even responded to my inquiries for a quote, Michelle got back to me the same day with a quote and description of how the repair would be done. It's a slight downside to have to ship one glove coast to coast for a minor repair on one finger. But the cost of shipping and the repair is much less than purchasing another $100 pair of gloves! The repair took a little longer than anticipated, but shipping time had to be factored in as well. Michelle was very prompt with communications during the process. Cost of service below did not include shipping which was about $16 round trip. The glove returned good as new...well as good as it's pair. The glove is two years old. But the seam was totally resewn and reinforced. Michelle stated she did not want to the issue to happen again. I hope it won't. The problem started with my fingers rubbing. Very happy with the service from Premier. I wish they had a shop in Maryland!"

Small jobs welcome

"I was looking for someone to mow my yard and everybody in my opinion had pretty high prices. I couldn’t justify paying others high prices just to maintain my yard. Tye at Odd Jobs Unlimited saved the day. He does a great job cutting and maintaining my lawn and his rates are very reasonable. Great guy and best of all he does more than mow lawns."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

Your Lima home is ideal for upholstering if you own sturdy, older furniture—especially pieces with hardwood frames or vintage construction. Homes with reliable climate control help preserve new fabric and foam. Consider access for moving large items, and if you have pets or live near busy roads, choose stain-resistant or easy-to-clean upholstery fabrics to suit Lima’s seasonal changes and local conditions.

Helpful?

In Lima, you’ll need to select upholstery fabric that stands up to local humidity and daily use, especially if your home is near high-traffic areas or experiences seasonal temperature swings. Homeowners also coordinate pickup and delivery, considering Lima’s winter weather. Decisions about cushion firmness, spring repair, and stain protection are important, as is scheduling around local events or your family’s routines.

Helpful?

Before contacting a Lima upholsterer, take clear photos and measurements of your furniture, noting any frame or fabric damage. Record entryway and hallway sizes—older Lima homes may have narrow access points. List your preferred fabric types, color choices, and any past repairs. Mention your household’s needs, such as pet-friendly or hypoallergenic materials, and provide details about parking or delivery access for a smoother service experience.

Helpful?

In Lima, upholstering projects typically take 1-2 weeks for dining chairs and 3-6 weeks for sofas or armchairs, but local shop schedules and fabric selection can affect timing. During peak seasons, such as late spring or before holidays, wait times may increase due to higher demand. Specialty fabrics or custom furniture repair requests often add extra time, so contacting local upholsterers early is wise.

Helpful?

Delaying upholstery in Lima can expose your furniture to the region’s fluctuating humidity and temperature, accelerating fabric deterioration and increasing the risk of mold or mildew—especially in basements or older homes. Prolonged neglect may also worsen frame or spring issues, making future furniture repair more complex. This can lead to trapped allergens and reduced indoor air quality, particularly during Lima’s damp seasons.
