Yes, mold can build up in a dehumidifier if not properly emptied and clean. Clean it every few weeks by removing dirty water, scrubbing with a mild dish soap, and allowing it to fully dry before reassembling. 

Mold and other fungi love moisture, so the best way to prevent mold growth after water damage is to remove as much moisture as possible. First, find the source of the water or moisture, such as a leak or clogged gutters, and correct the problem. Next, remove standing water, vacuum up puddles with a shop vacuum, and run blower fans and dehumidifiers for 24 to 72 hours. Once you've removed all traces of moisture, disinfect the area using either vinegar or bleach to kill any remaining mold spores.

Although fiberglass dust is generally not considered toxic, inhaling excessive amounts of it can lead to health risks. Irritation to the respiratory system, eyes, and skin are common effects of fiberglass particle inhalation. While short-term exposure to the dust may only cause temporary discomfort, long-term or chronic exposure can lead to more severe respiratory problems.

Proper safety measures, such as wearing appropriate protective equipment, including masks and goggles, should be observed when handling or working with fiberglass materials to minimize health risks. It is important to note that, unlike asbestos, fiberglass is not associated with life-threatening illnesses.

A mold inspection costs $660 for the average homeowner. This cost can range anywhere from $150 to $2.800, depending on the size of your home, the number and type of samples, and the number of hard-to-reach areas of your home that need testing. 

Places like air ducts, crawl spaces, and wall cavities are particularly inviting for mold spores but require more time from your mold inspection pro. Air testing, however, is more costly, ranging from $250 to $350, but can cost as much as $700.
