"Anthony & crew were terrific They showed up on schedule & completed the job in the agreed upon timing. Anthony discussed all plans in advance, didn’t change plans or move ahead w/ a couple of things that came to light once the actual work started without talking to us first. He is very pleasant and easy to work with. I have a couple of other jobs that will head his way once we get them going. I will hire them again. No question."

"I am perplexed and frustrated that the contact person from the company did not apparently want to work with me to find the source of the leak. Initially, without examining the roof, he said he thought the step flashing on the garage roof needed replaced. That was a logical guess and the work was done in a timely manner. When the leak persisted and I had already paid 700 dollars, the same contact person backed away from pursuing the matter saying I should "check with my neighbors " in my condo community to see what they found as the source of water leakage (I mentioned other neighbors complained of leaks). I then appealed to the company's president on voice mail and a different comtact person called the next day and came and inspected the work which their company had done on replacing the step flashing. This person said he saw " voids" and reapplied new stepflashing for no extra charge. I continued to have the water leakage problem and I was turned back over to the original contact person who said he "would be happy" to help me and would be out in a couple of weeks. He did not come out so I contacted him again and he said he would "definitely" come out. That was over 6 weeks ago and he never called me back. I got frustrated and called a different company. The worker went on top of my roof with a hose spraying water on different areas and we found a window to be the source of the leak. I don't know why Bradford Xteriors (or at least my contact person ) did not want to work with me to discover the source of my problem. I hired them because of their good ratings. I would not hire them again."

"Exceptional service from first contact to quote, and job completion. Everything they told me was completed to superb standards. They didn’t cut corners. Cleanup was impeccable after the job. The roofers were friendly and polite. I would absolutely recommend them and I would use them again if needed."

Garages questions, answered by experts

If you have a garage heater that is 1,500 watts or more, it will need its own breaker. As a good rule of thumb, no appliance should exceed 1,500 watts per outlet for best outcomes. Consult a local garage heating service to determine the power needs for your outdoor or indoor space.

It is possible to manually open a garage door. However, whether you should manually open a garage door depends on the source of the problem. If the door doesn't open because of a broken spring or cable, for safety's sake, you'll want to leave the door closed until you can have a professional inspect it and repair it. If the problem lies with the opener itself, you should usually have no problem opening the door manually.

You don’t need a garage door opener unless you need or desire the convenience they offer. While you may be able to open some garage doors manually, having a garage door opener makes life a lot easier. There is an exception, though—a motorized opener is an absolute must if you have a two-car garage (or larger), as the door will be too heavy for the average person to lift on their own.

The first place you start with any garage remodel, regardless of the project, is with repairs. You want a stable foundation to avoid problems from arising down the road. Once any necessary repairs are addressed, you’ll want to move on to layout changes, like installing new walls, running new electric, plumbing, and HVAC to the space, if required, and then finishing work.

While the benefits of garage door screens usually outweigh the downsides, there are some cons to installing one. First off, they can be quite expensive, especially if you’re having a professional install a retracting screen or a custom size screen. Second, they let fresh air and natural light in, but they also don’t provide the same privacy from people in the neighborhood that a solid door does. As you might guess, screens also won’t insulate your garage, so they’re often not usable in colder weather.
