I mostly work alone but will employ other people when a project calls for it, for example, demolition, major plastering and painting, cleaning, etc. Since 1998 I have always put my proposals in writing, received a 50% deposit check when I am to begin a project, and the remaining 50% upon completion of the job. I accept credit cards and will give 20% off to my first Angie's list client.

"Due to our home warranty, we were saddled with this company. They have come out to fix the same issue twice now and apparently it was never fixed accurately. I came home yesterday and the same hose they claimed to have “fixed” had leaked enough to drip to my first floor causing water damage. When I called to report the issue, the woman was very rude and put off that I would call in with a complaint. She asked why I didn’t check the technicians work to make sure it was done correctly. Well, seeing as how I’m not a certified plumber, how am I to know the ins and outs of what he did? She then told me, “clearly, you know nothing about plumbing.” Instead of offering to send someone out to fix their mistake, she said “what do you expect us to do?” A legitimate company would apologize and send someone immediately. Instead, she continued to put the solution back on me. That $60 copay through my home warranty will now cost me thousands to repair in water damage. Steer clear of this company!"
