"I had a horrible experience with Carrieri Construction. Mike Carrieri was contracted from a local appliance store to install a slide in range in my home. Mike determined that my granite would need cut in order for the range to fit. Mike gave me the choice for him to do it, or for me to hire a granite company to do the job. Mike led me to believe he was capable of doing the job. Mike cut my granite approximately 1/4" too wide on each side and the granite was crooked and sloppy and my wood floors were severely scratched in front of my range. The installation Mike performed at my home looks nothing like the ones he advertises on his website. When I reached out to him asking for this job to be corrected, his recommendation was to install stainless steel strips over the large gaps. While I did agree to that attempt, when I saw the end result, I told him it was unacceptable. At that point, he refused to answer my phone calls for months. When I finally did get ahold of him he was rude and argumentative and said he had no intention on fixing my granite "just because" I didn't like the stainless steel strips (which he charged me for, by the way! He charged me to fix his error and he used a crayon to color my floor, acting like the scratches were no big deal) He was downright awful to speak with, talking over me and interrupting me never allowing me to have a rational discussion about this. BEWARE! The photos of the work Carrieri Construction posts on his website are most definitely not what you will get. Mike Carrieri had complete disregard for me and my home."

"This is my review of Ron Holmes dba Avon Bay construction. I contracted with Ron in June of 2021 to rebuild brick steps and to install a stamped concrete walkway. We were satisfied with his work on the steps. However, when he poured the concrete it rained. He should have known by the forecast that it was going to rain. He did not come prepared to protect the job. As a result the stamped concrete was terrible. The concrete was spalled in many places, it had pock marks from rain drops. Ron also tried to double stamp areas. We told him we were not satisfied and wanted it be ripped out and redone. His solution was to offer to do an overlayment. We did not feel that would last in Ohio winters and that it would fail. He then offered to redo if we paid him more money. He stopped communicating with us. I sued him in small claims court for the amount of money it cost us to hire another contractor. Ron never showed up to court. I presented my case including photos of the shoddy work and judgement was in my favor. Subsequently, Ron has ignored the courts request to show a financial statement and a motion to show in court. He currently has a Bench Warrant for his arrest in the City of Mentor. And I have learned that he has other warrants in the area. DO NOT HIRE HIM!"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

It is safe to flush the toilet even if the pipes are frozen, and this may even help clear out the pipes. But if the supply line is frozen, the toilet won’t refill itself until it’s thawed out. You can still flush by pouring water into the tank to refill it.

Removing calcium and lime buildup will often fix a clogged faucet head. You can usually remove any buildup with distilled white vinegar or a combination of vinegar, dish soap, and baking soda. Sometimes, the problem is buildup on the aerator, in which case removing and cleaning that part should fix your water flow. However, the design of some aerators makes them difficult to clean. For those, replacing the aerator will get the faucet flowing well again.

While a leak may seem small, even a gentle trickle of consistent moisture can lead to mold problems in your bathroom. Make sure you know how to check for mold if your toilet has been leaking for a while. Pooling water by your toilet also poses a risk for someone slipping on the slick floor of your bathroom. Finally, a leak of any size can lead to water waste that increases your water bill.

To help your plumber understand your situation quickly and help facilitate your repair, you should be ready with your name, address, whether the plumbing problem is an emergency, whether you tried to fix the problem yourself and the steps you took, and your availability for the plumber to pay a visit.

While tubs are fairly sturdy, you may notice cracks or holes. This kind of damage can happen from someone accidentally dropping something heavy into the tub. You might also see damage if you drop something heavy into the tub over and over again (like your extra large bottle of body wash). While you might only notice a small dent at first, this can later turn into a crack or a hole.

Also, certain cleaners that are harmful to your tub can cause damage. And if you have a fiberglass tub, you might see cracks if it was not installed properly with the right support.
