"On April 5, 2024 we received an estimate from M&H preservations for $2500 to replace our front porch steps. We agreed to this amount and we were then told that Matt would get in touch with us when he was able to do the project. On May 2, 2024 the steps were started at that time we paid half of the $2500 due. Due to rain delays and other projects for M&Hpreservations the steps report roughly around May 7, 2024 at that time we paid the remainder of the 2500. When the steps were being poured we were at work so my sister who lives across the street gave Matt the check. When Jeff got home from work of course he noticed the steps and what a great job M&H preservations had done then he noticed the sidewalk next to the driveway had been damaged. With a cement truck poured the steps the driver drove on the sidewalk causing the sidewalk to crack into several sections and creating a small valley where the water now puddles. It was early June when I contacted Matt to tell him about the damage and what could be done to fix it? He told me that he would come by and look at the damage never heard anything from him so about a week later I try to contact him again at that time he told me that he hadn’t gone by the house. He also told me that he didn’t know who the truck driver was that he needed to talk to. I tried a third time to contact him no response. By this time I was done with him and I let Jeff talk to him. Just got in contact with Matt and told him that the cement truck damage the sidewalk and what could be done to fix the problem.Matt once again told Jeff that he would have to get in contact with the driver. Couple weeks later Jeff try to get in contact with Matt spoke to him about the situation and at one point Jeff even offered to help. Now it is September and with winter right around the corner our sidewalk is still damaged."

"Also operates under "The Curb Appeal Pros" (both company names are on the email receipt I was sent). They were hired to perform gutter cleaning on June 22nd. The process for making the appointment was very easy and their use of technology (texting) to confirm and keep up to date on schedule was nice. I chose them because they were local and the company I was originally going to hire was 4 weeks out on availability. Gentleman showed up for appointment and we walked around my house so I could show him the lay of the gutters. I was concerned about reaching the second story corner of the house because it was over a basement walkout. he said no problem because once he got up on roof he would "be like a monkey up there". The gentleman got his ladder up next to the house, went to his vehicle and pulled out a gas powered blower! I was surprised because I had never seen that before and now I know why. Yes, my gutters were "blown out" but if you can imagine water and decomposing leaves blowing out of your gutters, yes it made a mess of black streaks over the sides of the gutters and onto the siding where it was blown onto. The gutter cleaning service listed on the website states "Our team will remove all leaf & debris and spray out the downspouts." Our downspouts were not sprayed out either. We found out upon paying that he was subcontracted out to do gutter cleanings for the company and was "super busy". My wife just wanted to get him gone so we could clean up the mess, We will be buying a power washer ourselves this weekend to work on cleaning up. This may be how this company regularly cleans gutters, I would recommend asking the company you hire in advance how they clean gutters because there are many companies in the area that will clean by hand and not get on your roof for the same or less money we paid. You just might have to wait a little bit to schedule the service."

Hardwood Flooring questions, answered by experts

It depends on the kind you choose, but some types of carpet padding can last for decades. For instance, flat rubber—which is dense, durable, and higher-priced than other padding materials—has a life span of up to 20 years. On the other hand, prime foam—a lower-priced material that often comes free with a carpet installation—lasts less than five years on average.

The first step in budgeting for carpet is to determine the amount of carpet you need and the type of carpet you want. You might be tempted to opt for the least expensive option if you have a limited budget, but a low-quality carpet won’t last as long as a high-quality one. When accounting for future carpet repair costs, it makes sense to buy the best-quality carpet you can afford.

The best underlayment for carpet on concrete is a sponge rubber underlayment. This type of carpet padding is durable enough to endure wear and tear on hard concrete yet soft enough to provide comfort underfoot. It also creates insulation from sound and temperature, providing warmth despite the concrete’s cold surface.

There are a few cleaning products that you should never use on carpets because you may accidentally ruin them. Do not use bleach, dish soap, laundry detergent, and abrasive cleaners on carpet. For more guidance on products to avoid, consult a local carpet cleaning company for expert advice.

Like any other type of flooring, you will need to keep up with regular maintenance on your epoxy floors to keep them in the best shape possible; however, it is not like hardwood floors inside a house, which require special care and more consistent maintenance.

Just make sure you use the right cleaning tools and solutions. Avoid using harsh tools like scrub brushes or hard-bristled brooms. You should also skip cleaners that are highly acidic, including white vinegar.
