"My deck is stellar!! There aren't enough stars for Fence-N-Deck Doctors. My experience was perfect from the start. Jef the owner came out promptly for estimate. Quick, efficient, fair, professional. The construction started a day early and Bryan was expert--I mean super expert having built decks for over 20 years. The process involved questions and few minor changes (no skirting, 4ft steps, and partial privacy wall adjustment). All interactions with Bryan with questions were so positive and options given so that I would be happy with the end result. Bryan said this and meant it. Yes, it is stressful to make an investment but my friend had referred Fence-N-Deck Doctors and all indicators were these are solid, caring and skilled individuals that work as loyal friends and a team. Bryan was absolutely full of integrity. Everything about my deck being built was beyond my expectations. So hard to find this quality of work in these times. I can recommend Fence-N-Deck Doctors and assure you that you will be treated fairly. I acknowledge being incredibly picky and analytical but even with my high standards, if you are like me you will love the finished product and feel happy with the beauty and craftsmanship! I am not worthy of this beautiful deck made just for me. Thank you Jef, Michelle and Bryan!!"

"Micah and his team have been great to work with.  He's always been fairly easy to get a hold of (especially considering this is the busiest time of the year), and has given us great service.  I've received many quotes for yard work in the past and have typically gone with the cheapest provider.  On a recommendation of a friend, we gave this company a shot, and I think Dean Landscape well priced for the quality of work.  His workers have been professional and very nice, and we're thrilled with our new backyard.  We'll be using them again in the future.

"They did an excellent job and found an issue with my gutter guard that needs addressed. I was not aware of this problem and I am glad to know so that I can have it fixed. It is probably the cause of moisture my brother noticed in my crawl space!"

"Bryan Dodson performed the work. He was extremely efficient and knowledgeable and had us back in operation in record time. I placed a call in the morning and he was here and had the job completed by early afternoon the same day. I would definitely recommend and use them again."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Rotting wood, loose railings, or unstable stairs may indicate a need for expertise.

Unless you’re using a 2-in-1 formula or painting over an existing coat of paint, it pays to apply a coat of primer ahead of your new paint. Decks see a lot of footfall and exposure to extreme and sudden temperature changes and moisture levels. The primer promotes better paint adhesion, moisture repellency, and a smoother finish, which means you’ll often need fewer coats of paint.

Composite decking may never warp, or it may warp quickly. Several factors can influence the rate of warping, including the material's quality, installation method, and installation location. Generally speaking, high-quality materials that have been installed properly are drastically less prone to warping.

Coping is the material that lines the perimeter of a pool and seals the transition between the top of the pool wall and the water. Decking surrounds the poolscape and extends far beyond the water's edge to provide a safe walking and lounging area. In short, coping is the border between the decking and the pool itself.

Before installing any materials under the deck for removing moisture, you should perform some prep work on the ground. Work the dirt under the deck to create a grade away from the home. A grade of at least six inches for every 10 feet works well. Do not leave a gap between the dirt and the home’s foundation where water could pool. Once you or a contractor regrades the dirt under the deck, you then can add materials over the top.
