Small jobs welcome

"We had a concrete slab installed for a shed and some brick tuck point work on a corner of the house. The process was great start to finish. William is responsive, the work was completed quickly, and the cost was very reasonable. I will definitely use Byler's Masonry for future projects."

"Had Betts Structural Engineering come and look at the foundation of a house we were in contract on. Josh came out and was professional and informative. He informed us the foundation was failing and explained what needed to be done. He throughly explained everything and told us how we could do it ourselves for much cheaper than a contractor could do it. In the end he saved us from a long and expensive process if we proceeded with the house."

"Initial work was done well; however, I had a finished side to the basement. While I was told they would cut the wall at an appropriate height for a chair rail to be installed when re-sheetrocked, the quality of the wall and stud removal left something to be desired. Now a few months later I have a leak in the dehumidifier. I called and was told they could have someone look at it in a week: unacceptable. I would not recommend."

"I've used WyattWorks for years. I'm always impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, and courtesy of their staff at every level. This time our technician was Benjamin W - smart, friendly, very helpful, hardworking. He asked questions, answered our questions, and considered our needs in order to give us the best options for water heater replacement and the other work. It was good to have a few options spelled out and priced before I made a decision. In the end, Benjamin did the work I wanted same day for a decent price.

I won't hesitate to use WyattWorks again, and I recommend them highly to others. Great company."

"Price was excellent. Work was completed in a very professional manner by personnel who knew what they were doing and who were very pleasant to deal with. They cleaned up very nicely and left the project ready for restoration. Ditto for the insulation and drywall repairs."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

It’s called cobblestone because it’s made of stones that are “cobbed” together. A cob is a term that refers to rounded lumps. Originally, cobblestone streets were made from pebbles and stones gathered from riverbeds that had been rounded over time by the passage of water. The term has nothing to do with a cobbler, which is the term for someone who makes and fixes shoes.

Stone veneer siding is approximately four times less expensive than stone because it's made of concrete and aggregates instead of natural stone. But veneer looks like real stone, is easier to install, and acts as a great, durable siding option.

You can use adhesive strips to hang lights on brick—just make sure you get outdoor mounting tape and not just any old double-sided tape for your project.

Granite is the strongest commercially available stone houses are built from. It’s also more commonly available, which means transport costs aren’t as high because a granite quarry isn’t too far from a build site. Limestone and sandstone are popular materials as well, but they aren’t as strong or weather-resistant as granite.

The best color to paint a brick fireplace comes down to personal taste. However, neutral colors—like white or gray—will open the space and create a bright modern look, making them popular options. However, choosing a bold color can turn your fireplace into a feature piece that will be the talk of all family gatherings.
