"They did excellent work. If I saw something wrong, they would correct it right away. I am very happy. They do beautiful work; everyone that has seen my bathrooms since they remodeled them has complimented the work. They really know what they are doing."
The sunporch easily accommodates both outdoor conversation seating and dining sets. Finishing the comfortable indoor/outdoor living space, electrical wiring provides power for the ceiling fan and can lights above, with additional outlets for a TV, speakers and other items—everything the homeowners need to enjoy a fresh, inviting living area.
The sunporch addition was designed for easy living at every touchpoint: Sturdy, lightweight framing materials create the gabled roof and side panel construction, including maintenance-free aluminum posts capped in vinyl, so there’s no paint to touch up or chipping to worry about long-term.
Because the homeowners wanted an unobstructed view and ventilation for their firepit table, screens are run from floor to ceiling along the walls. Added screened entry doors on both sides provide easy access to the room from the yard and adjoining patio.
The new sunporch is a large, open-air living space (11' x 14') with floor-to-ceiling screened panels for excellent ventilation and unrestricted views with a full room for protection.

"Ben is very good at construction and remodeling. He spent a whole month with us so far, turning a shell of a room into an Airbnb in our home. He arrives promptly every day, is very much on top of everything, and is a good planner and organizer. The room looks great so far."

Basement Remodel questions, answered by experts

In addition to overseeing new home builds, construction managers work on large renovations and major remodels. For example, they may work with designers and oversee the construction of a finished basement, kitchen renovation, or a home addition. They may also oversee large-scale remodels, such as the update of a historic home. Construction managers step into small projects for more specific assistance, such as building budgets and compiling the team.

Although homeowners often use the terms basement remodeling and basement finishing interchangeably, they are quite different terms.

Finishing a basement is the process of taking a basement space that is not habitable and adding elements to make it usable. This includes adding plumbing, flooring, and insulation.

Remodeling a basement means taking an already existing finished basement and changing it, often by adding or removing walls, adding plumbing, or changing the existing flooring.

A finished basement does not always count as square footage, as this varies by state regulations. In areas that allow below-grade spaces to be included in a home's official square footage, the basement must typically meet certain conditions. These conditions often include having a functional egress and being a livable space with flooring, finished walls, and temperature control. To be certain, contact your local assessor to confirm your area's specific policies regarding basement square footage.

To determine if your basement walls are suitable for finishing, assess their structural integrity and moisture conditions. Look for any signs of damage, such as cracks, bowing, or excessive moisture. Ensure proper drainage and address any underlying issues before proceeding.

Consult with a professional if you're uncertain about the structural stability or potential risks associated with finishing your basement walls.

Building up by adding square footage to the top of your home is often less expensive than adding a basement, but it depends on the specifics of your house, your property, and supply costs. Because building a basement requires excavation, it can be a more expensive option than building up.
