I found this company "Stone & Water" and the owner Jason off Google and decided to go with his company because his website site sold him to be a Christian man and a Christian company, I try to only do business with companies like that.
Jason came out to my home met with me and we discussed what I wanted done and agreed verbally on a price. I hired him to completely gut my bathroom and redo everything in it. I purchased all the material and was paying him only for the labor. After all the materials came in he decided to raise the price and at this point I wanted to get it done so I agreed to his price. Two weeks into the project Jason decided to raise the price yet again and at this point his new price was more then I could afford, not more then what I wanted to pay but more then I could actually afford. The price increases were all over $1000 each time. I was forced to put the job on hold because I was now in a bind and could not afford to finish It because he raised the price again. Please keep in mind this my only bathroom. He had also made a comment to "you have a $700.00 shower head and your asking me to watch my labor cost" Yes I bought high end stuff for the bathroom but it installed no differently. It should not matter the cost of the material as long as it installs the same and requires not extra time or labor to install. I should not have to pay more because I bought better material. This comment was made a week or two into the job after he raised the price the 2nd time.
Because I had already paid Jason money "cash" and he raised his price to more then I could afford I was in a serious bind as I didn't have the money to hire another contractor and didn't have a bathroom I could use I had to reach out to see if I could get some financial aid from different resources. I am a active member within my church and also a usher at my church I decided to reach out to my church. After sitting down with two of the pastors at my church they decided to come to my home to look at the project so they could provide aid to finish the job. One of the request of my church for them to provide financial aid was that a work permit be pulled for the work and an inspection of the existing work be done by the county inspector.
The county inspector came out to my home and met with me and one of the pastors of my church to do the inspection. The inspector found multiple violations some that made the home unsafe and gave me 7 days to fix the electrical hazards and required that the other issues be fixed. Along with all the violations came fines, when we explained the situation to the county inspector he said since I personally did not do the work that he would hold the contractor responsible for the fines. Some of the violations include one fine for not pulling a permit to perform the electrical and plumbing, a fine because the contractor left a live exposed wire behind the wall next to the shower water valve "see pictures", a fine because the electrical wiring was not wired into a accessible junction box, a fine because the contractor energized the wiring for one of the lights without putting a cover over the box or de-energizing the breaker, a fine because the contractor tapped the bathroom lighting onto a breaker for another room in the home, a fine because the contractor took the breaker box cover off then later energized the breaker box and left the breaker box cover off this was one of the fire hazards that the inspector made me turn off power to the home till the cover was reinstalled, a fine for not securing the electrical wires that run down behind where the mirror goes see pictures, a fine for only leaving 1 inch of copper piping exposed for the sink water lines see pictures, The inspector took quite a few pictures gave us a copy of all the violations etc.
In order to correct some of the issues that I was required to correct by the inspector I was forced to tear down all the tile and cement board and the wiring that Jason had ran had to be removed and re-installed according to building code along with paying for a building permit.
I am going to try to attach the photos and paperwork on here, If I can you will be able to see how the tile on the walls is very uneven, you can see Jason cracked a piece of tile and when I asked him to replace it he said "no, because you will barley notice it and your not paying me $20,000 for the job" it should not matter if I will barley notice it I had extra tile and he cracked it after he installed it and it should not matter how much I am paying him. You can see from the pictures that he used roofing nails to install the cement board walls vs screws, the pictures show he did not tape off his seams where the cement board joins together, He used a 1/2 trowel to install way to much cement for the tile on the walls, the pictures show he only left 1 inch of copper piping coming out of the wall for the water lines for the sink another thing that was not done to code per the building inspector, You can see from the pictures he got cement all over the metal tile trim which had to be replaced, the pictures also show the copper piping for the water lines were installed at different heights not a violation the inspector said but looks like he just didn't care where he installed them, the pictures show he didn't secure the electrical wires running down behind where the mirror goes a building code violation per the building inspector, the picture show where Jason tied the bathroom lights to a breaker in another room a violation of building coder per inspector, the pictures show the exposed and energized breaker box with the cover off a violation and a fire hazard per the building inspector, the pictures show Jason didn't use the corner guard for the outside corner even know he had the piece sitting here and the pictures show the uneven tile job. Jason had also cut all the tile on my back porch causing my new siding that is less then a year old to be completely covered in the dust and grey water from the tile saw which he did not clean up and I am forced to power wash it now.
As you can see Jason did a horrible job granted people stretch the truth and contractors stretch the truth but pictures don't lie nor do county building inspection and violation reports this being the reason I have included these items to confirm the information I have written. I am not sure if he just didn't like me so he did a horrible job and kept raising the price on me and I cant speak on other work he has done. I can only tell you and show you the work that has been done on my home by Jason and his company. One thing to keep in mind if you decide to use this company and Jason for work despite this review make sure you get a detailed and signed contract for the work something I was never given which is partly my fault and make sure Jason actually gets the building permits from the county for all the work that he will be doing on your home. This covers you legally if you ever experience the same situation with him and assures that the work is being installed according to the building codes of your county. Unfortunately in my situation since I never received a physical contract from Jason and I paid him cash for all the labor he had performed. The pastor of my church and I sat down with the churches lawyer and a fellow member of church who is a lawyer who has tried similar cases like these to discuss our options. My church God Bless them is providing financial aid for all the work to be redone correctly and to building code. Hoover's Hardscapes, LLC did an awesome job on our patio! We are super excited to use it this summer. Here are some pictures on how it looked as they were working on it and how it finished! An awesome job all around!
Horrible! Look at attached picture. I knew I was paying way more then the job was worth but wanted the best of the best. Boy was I wrong. Got the worst of the worst! My unit for a new AC system is not only outside but is a split unit so most parts are up in my attic inside. Jennings did not...

Very well. He kept in touch during the scheduling process, showed up on time, did the work efficiently, and cleaned up. I think he even cleaned up leaves on the patio that had been there long before he did the work. He was polite and professional.

FAQs for patio cover service projects in Akron, OH
While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct home features. Porches offer a roof that protects from the elements when coming and going from the house. Generally, porches are on the front of your home. On the other hand, decks are generally built in the backyard of a home and offer no roof or protection from the elements, like rain or snow. Porches typically require less maintenance and upkeep thanks to the roof, but both features require regular cleaning and repairs to maintain good condition.
The cost of an awning is $1,400 to $4,400 on average. However, this cost could be as low as $100 or as high as $7,500, depending on a few factors. The type of awning you choose, the size you need, and your location all affect your overall cost.
For example, portable awnings you can put up and take down yourself range from $100 to $400, whereas motorized awnings are more luxurious and cost between $2,000 and $3,500.
The cost to build a deck is $8,025 on average. However, this cost can range anywhere from $1,500 to $22,000, depending on multiple factors, such as size, materials, and deck type. You can expect to pay $30 to $60 per square foot when building a new deck.
Cedar decks are often the most cost-effective option, ranging from $4 to $9per square foot for materials. However, pressure-treated decking, which is resistant to rot, is more expensive, ranging from $15 to $25 per square foot for materials.
Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.
Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.
Besides the type of awning, you’ll need to choose the type of cover. Your awning installation professional will review your options with you, including availability and costs. The types of covers you can choose from include:
Wood, which is durable but can be damaged easily by rainwater and fire
Cotton offers flexibility, weatherproofing, and easy cleaning
Canvas is highly durable and is a good choice for retractable awnings
Metal is sturdy but is prone to rust
Polyester is easy to clean and is a more breathable option
Polycarbonate is highly resistant to UV rays and is difficult to damage
