"Yellowlite did a great job. They were competitive against other solar installers, and then offered an end of the year discount that made them the winning bid. Gross cost was $2.53/W, and I will get 26% back as a tax credit. It took ~8 weeks from signing contract to install, and installation took 3 days for the electrician, 1 day for rooftop crew. They were very flexible and great to work with. For example, instead of routing conduit on the roof to connect two separate panel sections, I asked them to go through the attic, and they made the change without a second thought. The quality was great, and the electrician took his time to make the installation look good. The city inspector didn't spend much time looking at the system once he knew it was YellowLite--he was already familiar with their quality. Although the final 20% was earned for them upon startup, I did have to chase down permitting status with the utility, but only lost 1.5 weeks of solar (in cloudy February)."

"Green Rack was excellent to work with to get my solar panel system specced out and installed. From sales process to install, all questions and concerns were handled quickly and promptly. I had the install done in Oct 2024, and the system is running great 6+ months later. Green Rack handled all the paperwork when I needed HOA approval as well as they took care of the interconnection with our utility company as well. I can easily recommend Green Rack to anyone looking to install a solar setup on your house. The layout was designed with aesthetics in mind and all wiring and conduit was cleanly routed to avoid any unsightly lines with the house's overall aesthetic."

"
Techinician Alex Hunsin(cannot read his writing) arrived at our house, my husband took him to our daughters bathroom where the leak was coming from, the tecnician had to go to my older daughters bedroom to removed the 2 wall panels to have access to the pipes. His analysis was that the tub was leaking through its tiles and he caulked some silicone around the tub charged my husband the sum of $156.50 for this service, which was a ridiculous service charge and then failed to re attach the panels.   My husband did not realized Alex had not put the panels back on the wall, my daughter called me at work upset and informed me.I called the 1 800 843-9690 or 614 241-4411 and voiced my complaint to the operator she offered to send him back out but I work for a living and do not have time to sit around and wait for some incompetent worker to return back to our house to do the job the  right way,  so we put the panels back up our selves., I am just so upset, maybe we should get a partial refund for having to do  that part of his job  If Alex really has no understanding of what customer service looks like and does not respect the customers propertywhile working in their home, then he probably does not realize his behavior is impacting future earnings/sales for this company and that he is single handedly  having a negative impact on the brand called Mr Rooter Plumbing, so either HR needs to terminate him or somebody needs to retrain him. A written apology and a commitment by Mr Rooter representative to counsel and retrain Alex would be a minimum starting point for me to ever consider using them again.
UPDATE:  On March 26, 2012, Mark Elswick the Plumbing Manager from Mr Rooter called and spoke with both my husband and myself he apologized several times for their plumbing tech leaving the job unfinished. He informed us that the owner of the company would be issuing a refund check because they do not expect their plumbing techs to ever leave a job with the work being incomplete and they wanted to retain all their repeat customers. . Honestly I had wrote situation off as a lesson learned for us. An apology and acknowledgement of our situation and my dissatisfaction as a customer was the minimum I expected but this was above and beyond. The $156.50 question on the table is will I ever use there services again..........well honestly I am not quite sure yet, however I truly appreciate the authentic and sincere effort that Mark made to  "make it right"  for us the customer."

"Icon Solar did an amazing job with the solar installation on our house. It looks awesome and was significantly less expensive that the other companies that we had quote the job even though they use the same exact inverters and panels. I couldnâ t be happier with how it turned out! I would absolutely recommend this company."

"The Solar panels was installed on a ground mount.
It was a design that I could use the space underneath for storage.  I did not want a metal system so Renewable
Engineered Systems; built a solar racking system from high end wood, designed
for boats. It was creatively built and they cleaned up all around.

Job site was left clean. System works great.

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Removing solar panels can be straightforward, but it’s not necessarily a simple process. Your contractor needs to prevent damage—not only to your panels but also to your roof and electrical system. Many systems are wired into the main electrical grid, and you’ll need to hire a licensed electrician to disconnect it.

The best way to save money on solar panels is to take advantage of federal and state solar incentives. For example, the solar investment tax credit (ITC) offered by the federal government can save 30% of your total—if you can take the entire credit, which is based on income taxes owed—or an average of around $9,000. You can check the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) for state and local incentives that could save you even more.

As long as your solar panels are properly installed without damage to your roof, they will not shorten the roof’s life span. Solar panels can act as a cover or barrier to your roof and help block external elements, such as debris, heat, and UV rays. Reduced exposure to the weather can extend your roof’s life.

  • Installing a new electrical meter box

  • Replacing your meter base

  • Replacing your service entrance cable

The cost to install or upgrade an electrical meter box ranges from $100 to $650, including $50 to $250 for the unit. The meter base passes the power from your electric company to your panel. The cost to replace a meter base is roughly $50 to $250.

Service entrance cables are electrical cables with multiple wires, bringing power from electrical companies to residential buildings. The cost to replace a service entrance cable ranges roughly from $1,000 to $1,500.

Yes, you can connect an inverter directly to your solar panels without solar battery storage if your home is connected to the power grid. However, most pros don’t recommend a direct connection because solar panels don’t put out steady voltage. It’s always best to install a charge controller between your solar panel and your inverter to regulate the flow of energy and ensure a stable power supply.
