"The work these guys did was nothing short of spectacular! Joe, along with his father and son duo, tackled our project like pros?and with the kind of friendliness that could make even your in-laws jealous. Joe dropped by a month early for a quote, meticulously laying out his game plan step by step. His communication was so clear. And let?s talk about the tile I chose?it was like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded! Yet, they handled it with such precision that I?m convinced they might have some secret tile-wizardry skills. If you want a job done right, with a smile and a sprinkle of humor, these are the folks to call!"

"Felipe and his team did extraordinary work. Both interior and exterior painting and staining, cabinet mounting, garage exterior refinishing. They understand how to find the safest and most correct way to do carpentry and any beautification you may need. They are lovely to work with and take true pride in their work. I felt like there was nothing they couldn't do at a very high level. You will not be disappointed."

"I cannot say enough great things about this floor experience. Scott came by within just a couple days of our request for a quote and talked us through everything, showed us tons of wood samples, gave us very professional advice and a quote for all the work we discussed. 1.5 weeks later the wood was dropped off, and the following week the floors were installed (took only 2.5 days for the install of 3 bedrooms and connecting hallway). Everyone was extremely kind and the work was done beautifully and efficiently. If I have more floors redone in my home I would absolutely go with Genco again!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Different types of tile cutters may work best depending on the type of tile you are cutting and the size of your project. There are two main types of tile cutters: manual and electric. Manual tile cutters are quick and easy to use for small projects and softer tile materials, but they can only make straight cuts. Electric tile cutters make light work of big projects and can cut through harder materials.

You can often find many types of peel and stick tile at big-box home improvement stores. Other places to shop for this type of material include home decor websites, other types of big-box stores, and even directly from the manufacturer. It’s a good idea to order a tile sample first to see how you like the look and feel before installing it.

Porcelain tiles can last 60 years or longer. With high-quality tiles and proper installation, your porcelain tiles may even outlive you, making them well worth the initial investment.

To help your porcelain tiles last longer, you should clean and maintain them regularly. You don’t need any harsh chemicals to get the job done. Rather, use a cloth, hot water, and mild detergent. And don’t forget to learn how to clean floor tile grout, as that’s just as important as tile maintenance.

Generally speaking, it is better to cut tile wet when using a fast-moving wet saw to reduce dust and chipping. However, tile can be cut dry when using just about any cutting tool. Dry cutting will result in a bigger mess and may increase the risk of chipping or cracking, but if you’re just making small cuts, dry cutting is a safe and viable option. Cutting dry also means you can apply tile grout sooner, so it’s better for rushed projects.

Like any painted surface, tile paint can peel and chip over time. However, tile paint can become especially susceptible to peeling during periods of high humidity. Other sources of excess moisture will also cause tile paint to peel faster than normal. And if the tiles are in a high-traffic area, like the entryway floor, tile paint will chip and peel faster.
