Blaze Brockway Contracting has been proudly serving New York for 16 years plus. This is a family owned and operated company passed on through generations. We are proud to say we can perform any task from fixing it up to full remodels. We have the tools and skills to fulfill your every need. We work hard till the job is done at your satisfaction. Please give us a call today and you won't be disappointed.

"Blaze Brockway Contracting — To Blaze & his talented team — Thank you for your amazing work!!! What a project you undertook. We started out with some updates — screened porch & siding. Inspecting our home, you quickly discovered severe structural issues. Previous contractors never followed the standard codes for construction. My home was at risk - I had rotting footers , an add-on room that was rotted & falling down, a metal roof that was wet under the metal & hid mold issues, a deck that was not installed according to state standards and was shifting with our NY weather conditions, & sadly so much more . Blaze worked with us & our budget to resolve these issues. He made helpful suggestions on issues that needed to be addressed immediately. Blaze & the team stuck with us for 6 weeks of repairs, never leaving our site for other jobs. The team tore down the existing roof & built a beautiful new roof; they tore down & rebuil"

We are a Veteran owned, family owned and operated company proudly serving Central New York and the Fingerlakes Region. We thrive on business relationships that become long term, and work mostly on referred customers.

"We paid Matt at Family Ties Contracting over $35,000 to renovate our downstairs apartment in an agreed upon maximum of three months. The problems began early, with delays to the start of our project, but we cut him slack because one of his employees was injured in an accident. Not long after, we began getting bills for extras that 1) were already detailed in the contract and 2) were never signed off on. We were clear with Matt from the beginning that we wanted a space that was up to code, it wasn't till months later that we discovered he never even pulled a building permit - is a big "no no" where we live. Our local inspector did not seem happy about this and, in the process of inspections, we discovered other work that needed to be done to bring the apartment up to code, adding to the cost of our project. The problems continued when Matt began to refuse doing work that was clearly in the contract, from small jobs like installing the kitchen sink, to big ones like adding sheetrock to the ceiling to meet code, which was the first thing listed in our contract. The quality of the work was poor, we ended up having to hire a second electrician to install the correct type of outlet for our washer/dryer and a second plumber to fix a leaky sink which was installed. When the project was "finished" it was a mess (see pictures below). Worst of all, the project wasn't actually completed for 11 months - 8 longer than what was in our contracted, which resulted in the loss of a years worth of rental income. We were *constantly* calling them to come back and fix mistakes over this time, with varying degrees of success. To top it off, the owner apparently began spreading rumors about me and my wife because of the difficulties. I wouldn't have even bothered writing this, until I became aware of that. Overall, a totally unprofessional experience. We have spent over $52,000 so far and we are having to finish up by hiring outside contractors. We feel like we were screwed by Family Ties Contracting. It's not just the money and the poor results, but the stress and frustration made for an overall terrible experience."

We have many long-term customers that own homes or commercial properties in and around Ithaca. Some of our customers prefer us to work on a time and materials basis, and some prefer to have a bid. As the business owner, I am always the one to show up to look at and estimate a job. I have many long-term employees, and I also bring in specialists(architects, structural engineers, interior designers, etc.) on a as needed basis. We work out billing details for each project; for smaller bidded projects we typically do half down and then the last half on completion. For larger projects we break it down into more payment stages so our clients don't ever feel overextended but also so we have enough funding to operate in an efficient manner. We can carry financing on projects, yet typically that happens more frequently with commercial work. Payment plans are available. We offer a returning client discount.

JMR Woodworking is a specialty, high end custom woodworking and cabinet making business. My name is Julian Marcus Raven, I am a designer, builder and finisher of fine custom, hand made furniture, cabinetry and woodworking. I work directly homeowners, architects, designers. home builders and contractors in either the residential or commercial fields. Payments are made directly to JMR Woodworking by cash or check. I do not accept credit cards at this time. Payments are usually made in stages depending on the type of project. Usually a 30-50% deposit and balance upon completion. Longer more drawn out projects may require a series of payments over the duration of the job. Usually my work is done on an estimate basis. But there are times where I charge and hourly rate between $50-75.00 an hour. If the estimate is agreeable, a detailed agreement is drawn up containing all of the information, prices, materials, time schedule and guarantees. Both parties sign upon receipt of the deposit. JMR Woodworking, formerly Raven's Custom Creations, INC. has been producing fine custom furniture and cabinetry since 2000.

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

Unless otherwise specified in the manufacturer’s instructions, in most cases you should attach the hinges to the cabinet door before attaching it to the cabinet frame. Once you attach the hinge to the door, you can then align it with the cabinet frame and screw it firmly into place. Be sure to consult the manufacturer’s instructions for best practices.

On average, it costs about 30% to 50% less to reface than to replace custom or semi-custom cabinets. However, the most affordable cabinet replacement projects tend to cost about the same amount as the average cabinet refacing project. These are replacement projects that involve pre-made stock cabinet styles rather than custom designs.

Options include stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets, each offering varying levels of personalization and cost.

To install cabinet doors evenly, it’s important to make sure that all drilled holes and hardware are in their right places and aligned properly. You can achieve the ideal placement by using a level, straightedge, or other measuring tool. In the event that your cabinet doors are not installed evenly, most hinges allow you to adjust them so that your doors can be perfectly lined up.

Yes, new bathroom cabinets made from a quality material can increase home value. Updated cabinets enhance the overall look and functionality of the bathroom, making it more appealing to potential buyers. Additionally, they create a sense of cleanliness, an essential factor for homebuyers. Investing in new cabinets is a cost-effective way to modernize your bathroom's aesthetics and usability, which is a win-win for your home's market value.
