"Andrew and his team did a great job. They repaired our pavers and resealed them and then, when they had a bit of extra material left, they repaired our sidewalk at no extra charge. We were very satisfied with the job and would hire them again."

"They were nothing short of amazing. Arrived early, done in no time. They built a beautiful driveway, cut radius around walkway and garden, ran asphalt tight to the foundation and deck, just a superb job. Guys were courteous, hard-working, it just doesn't get any better."

"From the first estimate to the final cleanup, the whole experience was great! They were professional and showed up when they said they would. They completely transformed our yard with new landscaping, mulch beds, and trimming, and everything looks clean and polished. Fair pricing for the amount of work. We’ve already had neighbors asking who did our landscaping. Highly recommend!"

"I had water that would often come up through a "drain" in my garage, sometimes up to three inches. I had no idea how to remedy this, besides pouring a new concrete floor. Once the floor removal started, Zach realized that there was a lot more water than anticipated in the ground under my garage floor, and more needed to be done than what was originally expected. I trusted Zach with his experience and expertise and he came up with what I believe was the best solution to my problem. The result was that I got a new garage floor that looks great, plus proper water drainage so this never happens again. Zach always kept me apprised of when he would be at my house, what he was doing and when, and how long this would all take. He was always responsive to my text messages and he was a pleasure to do business with. I would hire him to do any other concrete work that I might need/want in the future."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The choice between asphalt and concrete depends on your priorities, budget, and climate.

Concrete is generally more durable, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep, and offers more customization options like staining and stamping, which can add more to a home's value. However, it is more expensive upfront and can be prone to cracking in cold climates where water can freeze and expand.

Asphalt is typically cheaper and quicker to install and is easier to repair. It performs better in colder climates. However, it requires more maintenance, including regular resealing, has a shorter lifespan, and can get hot and sticky in intense sunlight.

Ultimately, if durability and long-term value are key, concrete is often the better choice. If upfront cost and performance in cold weather are more important, asphalt may be preferable.

Asphalt driveways are affordable and able to withstand sub-zero temperatures. The asphalt surface makes it easy to plow snow, and it has excellent traction for slippery winter days. Another benefit: it absorbs heat from the sun and can then help to melt snow and ice more quickly than other surfaces.

You can expect your asphalt pavement to last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, or 25 years on average. The life expectancy of your asphalt driveway depends on the climate, the amount of traffic, and how well you maintain it. While you can’t necessarily control some of these factors, you can control the amount of maintenance effort you put into your driveway.

To prevent your asphalt from deteriorating prematurely, you should follow a good maintenance routine involving regular cleaning, reparation work, and resealing.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Whether it's worth it to install a heated driveway depends on how often you'll use it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you live in a mild climate with little snowfall, then installing a built-in heated driveway system may not be worth it. If you live in a region that experiences mild snowfall, then a portable mat could work better. However, if you live in a region with heavy snowfall, it makes sense to invest in a built-in heated driveway.
