"it started off they came late from time indicated on my contract . removed exterior door . installed new door , thats when all the crap started . they placed the door with side light in the opening . before they secured the door they opened the door ,which causes the frame to reck. thats when they started to tell me the door has a manufacturer issue , and they are doing there best . they messed up and are blaming the maker. they worked on it and got it close still not the way it is supposed to be clean up and off they go now the send me an invoice $150.00 more than the quote , i question it and they tell me they had to use a couple cans of foam 1/2 a tube of silicon. that doesnt justify 150 dollars. then they say they worked 6 hrs insted of 5hrs set forth by the contract. one problem they started late and left well before the aloted 5 hrs . all that said nice guys . thats about it . now i have to hire a real professional to take the door out reset it in the frame and reinstall it. "I hired Negotiator Home Improvement to replace three columns and a support beam, located outside my garage that was rotted. Pros 1. Mahendra is very responsive and courteous. 2. He was p as prompt in completing the work. 3.It appears that he did a good job replacing the columns. Cons: 1. The final product was sloppy, dirty, and unprofessional. 2. The wrap was not level (it bulges in areas). 3. The wrap was not put on neatly or evenly. 3. The sealant he applied to try to fix the issues with the wrap appeared to be applied by an amateur that has never used sealant before. 4. He estimated that the job would last about four days and I would have to pay additional money if he discovered that there was additional damage. It turned out that there was less damage than expected and he did not replace the entire support beam. As a result, the job took only two days. He did not adjust the cost downwards for the decrease in labor or material needed. I need to pay someone to redo the job."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.

The order of the steps for your kitchen remodel depends on the project scope, layout, and contractor availability. However, typically, you would install plumbing and electrics first, then insulation and drywall, before moving on to the flooring, cabinetry, and countertops. Appliances usually go in last. You can then take the time to add the fixtures, hardware, and other final personal touches.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.

There’s no strict rule about which way cabinet doors should open, but generally, double cabinet doors should open away from each other. With single doors, you want to avoid having them block your path or swing into  areas where people need to stand. Some kitchens are angled so that cabinet doors may crash into something no matter which way they swing, but the methods above can help prevent damage.

To estimate the cost of your kitchen cabinet installation, measure along the wall where you want your cabinets to be. Add up the linear feet, remembering to include both upper cabinets and lower cabinets in your total. Then, calculate the cost by multiplying the average price per linear foot of the type of cabinet you plan to install by the total length you measured.
