If you want a mediocre job, then Jeff from Cabinet Doctor, aka Cabinet Refacing, is your man. Jeff misjudged the measurement height of the new countertop which left old caulking on the wall. Luckily, I need to repaint the kitchen. Where the countertop and backsplash meet was not caulked completely, and I am unsure if the base of the faucet was caulked. The quartz countertop from Geovanny Granite and Marble is flawed with dust specks and swipe marks under the finish. And the seam was not properly sealed. Geovanny tried to fix it, but he made it worse.

About a month after the work was "completed", cabinets began falling apart. Went down hill from there. Took him to Small Claims Court. Court decided in my favor and awarded me a financial resolution. "Cabinet Doctor" thumbed his nose at both the judge and me and we never received a dime. If anybody has any idea of hiring this outfit - one word: "DON'T!"

It went well. Jeff and his helper finished the work in a timely fashion.

Went well until "work was completed." Then, cabinets began falling apart. Substandard railing and hardware used. Trash and detritus left behind cabinets. Jeff's a very good salesman and know his product but when he leaves, it all falls apart. Repeated attempts to communicate via phone, text, first class mail and registered mail went unanswered. Had to get a sheriff;s deputy to serve him.Took him to small claims court - judgment in my favor. However, Jeff thumbed his nose both at the judge who rendered the award and at my wife and me and we've never received a dime. If you do hire him, don't pay him the entire till until he's left and you're completely satisfied with the work. Give it a year before making final payments. Better yet - don't hire him.

Initially, it went well. However, when "the work was done", cabinets started falling apart. Plus, detritus was left under cabinets and was not cleaned. Jeff Scherl, owner became completely unresponsive. We took him to Small Claims Court - judgment in our favor. We have not received a cent from the judgment. All mail sent to Scherl, both first class and registered was returned as "Undeliverable". Had to get The Saratoga County Sheriff's department serve him. If anyone has any idea of hiring The Cabinet Doctor, I have one word: "DON'T!"

In November 2014 we hired Jeff and his business Cabinet Doctor to reface our kitchen cabinets. We had asked for ALL Cabinets to be included and assumed this included side cabinet, but that was left out for some unknown reason.  When the work began they realized that the order was wrong and 2 draw fronts was missing and had to be reordered. Because of the delay this caused,

Jeff told us they would replace the doors on the "forgotten "side free of charge. While waiting for the drawer fronts and free side  cabinet doors we noticed that the kick on the bottom of the cabinets is not installed. Jeff sad everything will be ready in 2 weeks and they will let us know. After a month wait and 2 phone massages to Jeff he sent Rick to do the job. Rick arrived without the kick or the promised doors. He just installed the draw fronts and left. We called Jeff and left about 20 massages about unfinished job, which by the way is in contract. No answer from Jeff. All winter we had wind blowing from under our cabinets. It is 4 month later and we still waiting. New draw fronts already cracking, quality is very low.

Door and drawer fronts had to be reordered, either they did not fit properly or were the wrong design.  Forgot glass inserts for doors and after quite a while called to say they had been broken in transport.  Installed incorrect hinges.  Calls to Jeff went unanswered, only after constant calling and texting did I get a response.  Appointments to correct mistakes were cancelled.  When I finally received a call back Jeff would offer many excuses, (it's in the shop, being painted, didn't arrive).  I made the mistake
of paying in full at the end of the main installation before mistakes were corrected.  Once he had my final check bad service only became worse.  Soft close drawers are slowly one by one becoming nonfunctional.  Spaces between doors are quite wide.  He lost the baseboard molding.  Jeff said that he usually didn't do that type of work but he would replace it but brought the wrong molding.
Finally, after almost two years (February, 2013 - January, 2015) of dealing with this, I just gave up and will have it finished myself

The initial consult (approximately 3/20/14) was with Jeff was extremely fast and we were given a detailed explanation of the services his company provides. We have a large custom kitchen that was originally built in 1972 and Jeff was very professional and confident that we could revitalize our kitchen at a fraction of the cost of the next closest competitor. Our next appointment was delayed several times due to Jeff "falling behind" and "being buried". The installation began the first week of May. The first day was cut short when the installer injured himself on a router. He did not notify us. We saw a blood trail from the kitchen to the nearest door and found out later that he had ripped most of a finger nail off and would not be able to continue the installation. Jeff came in the next day along with another installer and personally caught up the work that was missed. We appreciated this tremendously as the installation was completed on schedule. Things went further awry when I noticed that a door was too small for the opening, a piece of crown moulding was cracked and slathered with crayon filler to conceal the defect and a soft close door was inoperable. It took several weeks for an installer to come out and address the drawer. We had a need for an additional cabinet panel to account for a design change that happened during install. We have tried numerous times to call and text Jeff and have not yet received our part even though we had been told that it was "in the staining booth" and "we"ll be there by the end of the week". It has been nearly 8 months since our last contact with Jeff. We were promised warranty information after install and have received none. It seems that after the final payment changed hands we were not a priority for Jeff. I sincerely tried to get into contact with Jeff after our services were performed. The work that was accomplished certainly looks good but does not stand up to close scrutiny. The service after the sale has been pathetic at best. Nearly a year of being ignored leaves a certain bad taste in ones mouth. I will not recommend them to anyone until our issue has been resolved.

This didn't go very well from the beginning. some doors needed to be reordered. things didn't line up. it seemed like the workers just wanted to rush through the job. some things are still left as undone. I had to do some work on these cabinets after the workers left. things just didn't line up and were uneven. Some of the doors sagged down. they had problems that they just could not solve and left as is. Overall this is what they call a ten footer. It looks okay from a distance but up close you can see the detail work isn't there. this was a very bad install..

They were prompt and courteous.  The service was great. The refinishing was quality and they did a great job on the pull out shelves.

I called the Cabinet Doctor for an estimate. Jeff came out. He explained the process to us. They keep the existing cabinets but install new doors, hardware, veneer around the doors and end panels on the end of the cabinets. We had new drawers installed as well as converting some lower cabinets into deep drawers. Our old lazy susan was replaced with a new modern version. The whole process is called "refacing" costing roughly half of what it would be to replace the entire cabinets. The doors are solid wood not a composite and finished white in a material we never have to paint. Jeff was very professional explaining all available options. He showed us pictures of completed projects and offered us the option of contacting previous clients for references. He told us it would be 10 weeks before they could do the install. I gave him a deposit. About a week later the installer Rick came out and took measurements, I asked him about the microwave and he was very knowledgable about the ducting and electrical work for that part of the install. They were able to do the install about 4 weeks ahead of the 10 weeks they quoted. The install took 3 days. There were some minor problems with the curio cabinet (space between the top of the cabinet and ceiling, wrong color inside the cabinet) but Rick was able to take care of the issues professionally. There were basically 3 guys working and at the end of each day they cleaned up everything. Jeff, Rick and his crew did a great job. The kitchen looks brand new.
