"I was once told by a master stair builder that if you want to evaluate a general contractors work, look in the dumpster at the job site for an excessive amount of used caulk tubes indicating that they are covering up mistakes. Recently we completed a very challenging project that required the excavation under our old seasonal home in conjunction with a significant 2-story addition. After interviewing three reputable and recommended contractors, we decided to work with Dave Nessel, owner of Unique Construction. Dave presented a clear concise estimate of the scope for the work proposed, the costs we should expect and a timeframe for completion; all proved to be very accurate. He and his team of true artisans obviously enjoyed their work. Laughter and music would usually overshadow the sound of the power tools that were working in synchrony. The exceptional fit and finish in a clean and neat environment were easily appreciated. Dave is truly a meticulous visionary. "I met with Mark once to review what I wanted in my new garage, doors/windows/electric, etc. The second meeting he had my plans with a virtual rendition. I made one or two minor changes and got my plans on my third visit. After I selected my contractor and the Town needed an additional calculation Mark turned it around in 24 hours and I was on my way to getting my building permit. The contractor didn't have any problems reviewing the plans. He felt everything was in order. I don't anticipate any problems with construction related to the plans.
