"VERY PROFESSIONAL- John has been our go to plumbing guy for years now. He has replaced kitchen faucets, moved the toilet in our half bath, replaced outdoor water spigots, replaced tankless water system and more. He and his team are dependable, honest and quick to respond!! John explains / shows what the issue was and what to do to prevent from happening again. I would recommend this company over and over again."

"Internet connection was weak, garbled communication. But, they remained very professional and we could crack a joke every now and then when things got annoying. Once up and running the diagnostic test was done in 5 min. Confirming my suspicions. Part number was sent within minutes."

"They communicated with us in a timely way and arrived when they said they would, worked efficiently, and finished early. They talked with us throughout the project to make sure we would be happy with the final result and we are very pleased with the two showers we had replaced. They look great and work very well for us."

"We received a somewhat high-pressure sales pitch after seeing them highly recommended. We do not ever have standing water in our basement but get a little moisture here and there, so I was not in a huge hurry to get this done, but I did also wanted to seal up the walls to help prevent mice from getting in. What the salesperson promised me, as far as expectations of the work they would do, was enough to get me to sign on as a fill-in job at a lower rate. I signed the contract in August and was told they would brush out any loose mortar and fill in any big gaps between stones in my stone and mortar foundation. They told me that, as a fill-in, I would most likely have the work done before October, November at the latest. They insisted on installing the EZ Breathe vent right away, even though there were clearly big gaps under my porch, which would just draw in the outside air, so we never run it. October came and went. So did November December, without a whisper from them. Then I got a call in January, a day or two before the end of the window on my contract for when the work is expected to be complete. They want to do a test break of the concrete on the floor of my basement. No other info is given, like when they might be starting. I tell them I want to delay things until Spring, because I do not want them in and out and my pipes exposed, due to the cold. They send me a new contract to sign, so I begrudgingly sign it. It was my first opportunity to get out and I regret not doing so. We reschedule for March. Then COVID hits, and I finally get a call saying that they have to reschedule me for July, AND I have to sign a new contract AGAIN... Again, an opportunity I should have taken to walk away. Shortly before work is supposed to start, I get a call that they are behind schedule and have to push it to August. So now, a week shy of 1 year, they call and say that instead of sending a foreman out the Friday before, so that they can go over my concerns and how they will do the install, they tell me that the foreman will show up with the crew on Tuesday. *Sigh* Fine... Let just get this over with. Tuesday comes and the crew shows up with no foreman. I am told the guy that walked me through things has a good experience, and that the owner trusts him, but that is not the best person to tell me that they think they need to out 2 sump pumps in, but they need to check with the foreman and that they want to get started right away without him. Said he would be there the next day. So, they want to start work without a plan... Another red flag. Should have told them, no, but this is my first major hire of a contractor, so I let them start breaking up the floor inside. Foreman shows up at noon the same day. Says he agrees that 2 pumps are necessary, I express my concern, he says he will check with a production manager and let me know the next day. The next day he verifies 2 pumps, no cost to me. I discuss other issues, he says they do not fill cracks unless they can see someone on the other side of the wall. I call the office and complain. The owner makes a trip out, we discuss the issues. He tells him to fix them, tells foreman to take pictures. I feel better. I have to remind the foreman of things, pictures of problem areas were not taken before they hung encapsulation. Sounds like they did not address some of my major concerns. At that point, I was fed up and just wanted them to finish and leave. Gave me a free warranty extension for my troubles. The crew worked hard but was messy. Had to point out cigarette butts and garbage they left on my lawn. Still ended up finding a sweatshirt and red bull can in my basement... Not as bad as some stories I have heard, but it is not that hard to clean up after yourself. Would have left a pickaxe here if I did not remind them to take it. My credit was checked 4 times before the job was done."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

If you have an older electrical system with fraying wires and other signs of damage, removal  may be the best course of action. When asbestos begins to break down, it's more likely to become airborne, increasing the risk of health issues when it's inhaled.

However, if the system is in good condition and doesn't have visible signs of wear or damage, leaving it alone may be the safest course of action. An asbestos abatement and removal professional can help you determine the best way to proceed.

It can be safe to live in a house with asbestos as long as the asbestos-containing materials are intact, in good condition, and not disturbed. Asbestos becomes dangerous only when its fibers are released into the air, which happens if the material is damaged, crumbling, or disturbed during renovation work. If you suspect asbestos is present, do not disturb it. Instead of removal, materials in good condition can sometimes be encapsulated. It is recommended to have regular professional inspections to monitor the condition of the asbestos and prevent health risks from potential exposure.

Whether or not to buy a home containing asbestos is ultimately a decision for the homebuyer, and there are several things to consider. When in good condition and contained, asbestos is unlikely to present a health risk—it’s when those tiny fibers are loose and airborne that they become a problem. Consider any renovations you plan on doing to the home that could disturb existing asbestos and the cost of removal. If an inspection finds asbestos in a home on the market, you could negotiate with the seller for a lower price, though this isn’t a sure thing.

Asbestos is absolutely cancerous. In fact, around 4% of all lung cancer cases are the result of asbestos exposure. This is why we recommend a full, professional removal and cleaning of any asbestos found in your home. If you are unsure whether there is any present, you should call a pro who will inspect your property.

Often found in old insulation, tiles, and roofing materials in pre-1980s buildings.
