"Derek's cleaning was the best I have used in my span as a homeowner. He contacted me frequently to keep me up to date with his service. He was able to remove blood from a carpet and all the carpets cleaned well. He left me with a bottle of carpet cleaner, which I have used for a spill, and it works great. He even offered to leave his drying fan since he knew I was moving in furniture the following day. I appreciated his friendly manner. A true professional!"

"I called to have the carpet cleaned on my screened- in porch. My call was answered right away and they were able to fit me in the same week. The two gentlemen were very professional. While they were here I also had them clean the upholstery on my porch furniture. They threw in free cleaning for some other plastic patio furniture too without me asking. Very happy with the service and will contact them again!"

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Cleaning the carpet in a standard-size room should take about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the square footage. If your bedroom carpet has serious stains or wear patterns, it may take longer to treat it. An experienced carpet cleaner will likely move faster through this task than if you DIY it with a rented carpet cleaner.

Typically, you should avoid using a traditional carpet cleaner on Oriental rugs because the chemical makeup of carpet cleaners can damage the rug’s natural fibers. You can, however, opt for a neutral pH cleaner, which can do a decent job of cleaning the carpet without damaging it. Always test whatever cleaning solution you use on a small, hidden spot of your rug first. That way, if any damage occurs, it doesn’t totally ruin your rug.

How you freshen a musty carpet depends on what’s causing it to smell funky. Baking soda can soak up some smells, and vinegar is a natural deodorizer. These DIY solutions can lift out light odors. However, steam cleaning or hot water extraction may be the best way to clean your carpet when the smell is deeply ingrained. These penetrate deep into carpet fibers and can remove musty mold spores and pet urine smells.

It’s possible to DIY upholstery cleaning, but it’s usually best to leave the work to a professional. If you use aggressive cleaning solutions or are too rough with the material while trying to clean it, you could do permanent damage that demands repair or a full replacement. This issue is especially risky with more delicate materials, like leather, silk, and rayon. Some upholstery needs to be dry cleaned, and knowing how and when to use different cleaning methods is paramount for avoiding damage. A professional upholstery cleaner will know what products and methods are safe to use.

Yes, steam cleaning can be an effective way to clean a couch, but whether it's recommended depends on the upholstery material. It is possible to steam clean some couches, particularly those made of durable fabrics like cotton or polyester. However, not all materials handle heat and moisture well; delicate fabrics such as silk and rayon should only be dry-cleaned to avoid damage.

Before you begin, always double-check your couch manufacturer’s cleaning recommendations. If steam cleaning is appropriate for your couch, opt for a gentle steam cleaner designed for fabric rather than a bulky carpet cleaner, and use the gentlest setting to prevent damage to the fabric and foam padding. Like with carpets, you may need to pretreat and spot-clean tougher stains.

While effective, steam cleaners can be expensive to buy or rent. If you are unsure about the material or the process, it's best to call a professional upholstery cleaning service to avoid causing damage.
