"I used Green Landscaping to remove a troublesome tree from my backyard in the Bronx. Everything about working with Lenny and his team was superb from the start. I used Angi to get connected to them and Lenny immediatley followed up, set up a time for a quote the next day, and followed up with me with required insurance information for my HOA. The day of the job, he and his crew showed up early and ready to work. After a quick assessment and chat about what would happen, the crew got to work removing the tree. I kid you not, in less than 15 minutes, this tree was cut down, brought outside, and chopped up in their portable disposal truck. They cleaned up the debris from the yard, and left me blown away by the great service. If you're considering a tree removal, I cannot recommend Lenny and his team at Green Landscaping enough. I would happily use them for any future tree or landscaping services, as should you!"

"I can't say enough positive things about this group. They were punctual, professional, and showed great attention to detail. And they offered very competitive pricing to boot! They worked all day on my yard, eliminating and removing 2 large oak trees, an extremely tall hickory tree, 9 pine trees, and a "widow-maker" deciduous tree in 100 degree heat. My kids and I tried to bring them food, drinks, chairs, etc... , but we had to be EXTREMELY forceful for them to accept our offering. I'm very tight-fisted with money, but I opted to tip over $400 because of my appreciation and respect for the work they performed."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

In most ways, palm trees are incredibly low-maintenance. They don’t need a ton of water—which is why they’re so beloved in desert regions—and they basically prune themselves. But they do need an ample supply of sunlight and to be in soil that will allow for proper drainage so that their roots don’t become waterlogged and at risk of developing illnesses.

If the plant begins to wilt, develop spots, or change color, these could all be signs that your palm tree has a disease. But a few basic treatments, like pruning and applying fungicide, will usually be more than enough to return it to perfect health.

Some fast-acting products can rot a tree stump in four to six weeks. Keep in mind, these products contain harsh chemicals that may prevent regrowth in the area. Other products, like fertilizer that contains lots of nitrogen, can enhance the process and rot a stump in about a year. (This is compared to the ten years it can take naturally for a stump to rot.)

Yes, it can be good to remove dead branches from trees. Dead branches can lead to rot in other areas of the tree. They can also cause damage if they fall on a house, shed, fence, car, pool, or other structure or property. However, it’s important that dead branch removal is done safely. If the branch is high in a tree or requires a lift or ladder to access, consider calling a professional tree removal company, as they will have the experience and equipment to do the job safely.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.

You can start your search for a reputable arborist online by looking for professionals who hold the proper licensing and are fully insured. Next, read through some online reviews to see what kind of service the expert brings to the table, and confirm that they don’t have a history of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Finally, you can ask the professional for a list of references and then call them to ask questions about the service, professionalism, value, and more that the expert brings to the table.
