"Best price, best home inspection report I have ever seen (w/pictures), and knows his stuff. Did a radon test for us too and he worked hard to get our results under a time crunch. Very glad we went with him. Found a structural fault with the home deck and saved us some serious money. Thank you Schawn!!"

"Bill and his wife Deanna were extremely professional and thorough. I wanted to be present for the inspection and they welcomed me with open arms. Answered all of my questions, and went above and beyond to ensure that I left the inspection comfortable. Bill can perform radon testing and is certified for mold."

"We recently hired Patrick Sullivan after contacting another company for mold testing. He was very professional and overall nice guy. The other company we had contacted wanted to overkill on tests we did not need. We are currently in pending process of the sale of our home, which is why a mold test was needed. Upon home inspection, possible mold was found. The buyer wanted it tested and contacted Patrick to make sure he approved of him as well. Last but not least , Patrick went through the areas of house that were possible mold, spent time giving plenty of info. and was very helpful. Reasonable prices, knowledgeable, and professional."

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

Abatement includes sealing entry points and venting with systems that reduce radon levels below recommended EPA limits. It is handled by certified professionals.

Use a radon test kit or hire professionals to conduct a detailed assessment of radon levels in your home.

Installing a mitigation system reduces radon levels, which can cause lung cancer, providing peace of mind and long-term health benefits. It can also increase your home’s value, as many buyers prefer properties with radon safety measures in place. The investment is relatively low compared to the potential health risks associated with prolonged radon exposure.

No level of radon is technically safe, but since it is present everywhere, complete avoidance is impossible. The average radon level in homes across the United States is 1.3 picocuries per liter (pCi/L). The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends taking preventative measures if your home's radon levels are between 2 and 4 pCi/L or higher.

No, air purifiers are not an effective way to reduce or remove radon. Radon is a radioactive, inert gas that cannot be filtered by standard air purifiers, which are designed to capture particulates like dust and mold. While an air purifier can improve indoor air quality by removing other pollutants, it should not be relied upon for radon. The only effective solution for high radon levels is a dedicated radon mitigation system.
