He was very thorough and knowledgeable. I love that he explained everything at the inspection, which was very helpful. Everything was also written out in a detailed report that he sent very promptly. We ended up not purchasing the unit. What really helped us with this difficult decision is Joe's leveled and unbiased relaying of what he found at the inspection. He didn't exaggerate any flaws for example. At the end of the day we feel like we dodged a bullet after the inspection and will definitely be hiring Joe again once we find a home to purchase. "We are moving into an older house with asbestos covering on the pipes. A representative from JBH came in for an estimate and gave us a very accurate idea of the overall cost. Something that we were not able to confirm at the time of the removal...we were told this was a family-owned business and that someone from the family would come in to do the removal. Neither of the men who showed up introduced themselves as part of the family... The men from JBH showed up on time (very polite guys), removed all the asbestos, and then brought us down to show the work they had done. We were supposed to bring in an independent contractor for air monitoring, but the people we reached out to never returned our calls (they'll get their OWN review on Angie's List). In all the craziness of our move, we forgot that we never actually booked an air monitering company. We called JBH the day of the scheduled removal to let them know about the situation and to see if we should reschedule - they ended up calling someone in on our behalf to do the monitering. Not the ideal scenario, but it was great that they did the extra legwork with practically no notice. We did have to call JBH ourselves to follow up on the air testing results, which was the one downside."

They finished on time and left the home clean. So, when I was looking personally to have basement waterproofing (interior french drains and sump pump) along with radon mitigation, I received 3 quotes, of which theirs was the most comprehensive plan, and again not the highest quote overall. They finished the work ahead of schedule by bringing four workers the second day, were respectful throughout and left the area reasonably clean. I'm confident that my days (and nights!) with the shopvac and flooded basement are finally over, and grateful they stand behind their work for a full year. Good contractors are hard to find.
