"They finished the first jobs of remodeling one bathroom, and restoring the vintage tile in one and a half bath, painted the garage door, and installed two windows and one custom port hole from a ship yard. now, I have hired them to remodel the kitchen, install 10 windows and a sliding glass door, gut the garage and insulate one wall, remove old siding, put new tyvek and install new board and batten siding, paint the kitchen, build a new deck, and update electrical fixtures and wiring. I highly recommend Mr. Gallegos and his crew."

Small jobs welcome

"Juliano was very responsive and receptive of ideas I had for the project. The work done turned out the way I wanted and was able to do it within my price range. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the cleanup afterwards. There was more saw dust leftover than I anticipated. Regardless, I would recommend and would hire again for further projects."

"Windows are good. Work was sloppy. Still finding shards of glass on the floor and the furniture a week after completion. Caulking looks like a third grader did it- including caulking the screen door to the frame. For this type of investment, they should act like professionals."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

For exterior glass and mirror service, select insulated, double-pane units with Low-E coatings to handle the four-season NY climate. New York State building codes mandate tempered or laminated safety glass near doors, stairwells, and wet areas to protect your family. In bathrooms and basements, install moisture-resistant mirrors to prevent black edge deterioration from high humidity. For historic homes, request restoration-grade glass to preserve the original architectural character.

Helpful?

One major mistake during glass and mirror service is skipping required permits for structural modifications. Installing single-pane exterior glass violates NY energy codes and drastically increases heating bills. Homeowners also create safety hazards by placing non-tempered glass near doors or wet areas. Finally, neglecting to use moisture-resistant backing on bathroom mirrors leads to rapid deterioration in humid environments. Always hire local professionals to ensure strict code compliance.

Helpful?

Older homes in Mount Kisco frequently feature non-standard window openings and plaster walls, which require specialized hardware for glass and mirror service. Hilly terrain creates irregular foundation levels and tall rear elevations that challenge exterior access. Attached townhomes have shared walls that restrict mirror placement. Always check local building codes, as altering structural openings requires a permit to ensure your home remains safe and compliant.

Helpful?

Upgrading your home with professional glass and mirror service significantly reduces winter heat loss and eliminates uncomfortable drafts. Laminated glass blocks disruptive noise from active Mount Kisco transit corridors like the Metro-North line. Strategically placed mirrors and skylights maximize natural light in heavily wooded neighborhoods. Properly sealed windows also prevent interior condensation, which stops mold growth and protects your family during humid summer months.

Helpful?

Severe temperature swings in Mount Kisco cause thermal expansion and contraction, which cracks improperly fitted materials. Frequent freeze-thaw cycles directly lead to window seal failures and fogging. Plan exterior glass and mirror service during warmer months, as freezing temperatures prevent silicone sealants from curing properly. During humid summer months, ensure adequate ventilation because mirror adhesives take longer to dry and adhere correctly to plaster walls.
