New York Sash consistently provides homeowners with products that not only improve the appearance and value of their home, but saves them energy usage (and energy dollars) as well! Not only do we provide and install these products, we also stand behind them with a full service department to honor all warranty and guarantee promises made. This gives our customers complete peace of mind. Additionally, all of our installers are certified by the Occupational Safety and health Administration (OSHA) and certified in Lead Safety through the Environmental Protection Agency. New York Sash is fully insured. We are safe on the job and with your home.We also have a state-of-the-art Idea & Design Center with many product options on display, to allow homeowners to look and feel what the products would be like installed in their home.

"Brian, Bryan and Matt were our crew and were excellent. They were efficient, friendly and kind to me and my kids who liked to watch them work. The windows they completed look perfect. There was one window that they had to reschedule due to the space being very un-level. They ordered a brand new window and scheduled a new date to complete the job for the last window. They called as they were finishing up to explain everything. I also appreciated that I didn't have to be present for them to complete the job so that I was able to go to work."

Additional address - 20 Petra Lane, Sec 6, Albany, NY 12205. Additional phones - (518) 456-9376.

"I rented for seven years. It was a constant nightmare. No pest control, maintenance requests are just ignored or months late, rent hikes are constant. Total scum lords. Rent hikes costed me $700 monthly ($100 more each year) Told me to pay for my own pest control for the rodents and roaches at this property and won’t pay me back (totally breaks the law and doesn’t care) Using rent fixing as well. Run for the hills, hopefully these terrible deplorable peoples will shut their doors soon."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, brick houses are better insulated, because the bricks slow down the passage of air from the outside to the inside and vice-versa. This helps to stabilize the internal temperature of the home. When combined with proper residential insulation, brick houses are more efficient and better insulated than other types.

Just how long insulation lasts depends on the type of insulation you use. Fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years, but it's important to start checking fiberglass insulation around the 15-year mark. Spray foam also has a long life span of up to 80 years, while mineral wool can last up to 100 years. Although eco-friendly, cellulose only has a lifespan of 20 to 30 years.

Yes, spray foam insulation can be applied to your ductwork and effectively insulate your ducts. Blanket insulation is the easiest insulation product to DIY since it is easy to wrap around ducts. However, spray foam insulation can also benefit your HVAC system if applied to air ducts.

Exposed ductwork can sweat just like ductwork placed behind walls, sometimes even more so. Ductwork sweats—like a cold drink on a hot day—because of a temperature imbalance between the air in the duct and the air in the room. In a crawl space or wall, this temperature can equalize faster due to the small space but in lofts and open rooms, that wouldn’t happen as quickly. Many people insulate their ducts for this reason.

For a truly DIY solution to protect your outdoor faucets from freezing, you can craft your own faucet sock out of spare rags, plastic shopping bags, and duct tape—but this method might not be as effective (or attractive) as store-bought. If you choose to DIY your own outdoor faucet cover, be aware that rags, old towels, and other fabric you might use to wrap the faucet can absorb water like a sponge and could cause problems if it freezes.
