"Mr Chortani is a real professional. He is reliable, honest and knows what he is doing. I spent two days with him while he replaced my boiler. He thinks first then does what must be done without making any mistakes. He does not waste time or material. He did exactly what he told me he would do. All contractors should be like Mr Chortani. If you need "The Best" go with Chortani Services HVAC. Thank you Mr Chortani!"

"I sent a message to the company in the late evening regarding my broken central AC and Jason was here Tuesday morning to look at it. He tried to repair it but was not able to due to the age of the unit and the damage. We needed a new unit and he was here to put it in first thing Wednesday morning. Took him two hours and our AC was working. He was nice and professional. We felt the price was reasonable. Would use him again and recommend his business."

"Highly recommend Allined Mechanical! Billy and his team were able to come over and assess our existing central air system pretty much right away. He was super informative, not pushy (which I have dealt with in the past). Replaced our compressor and got our system up and running in no time. Great customer service, we will be using him for all of our hvac needs from now on!!"

"Ray was friendly and very professional and you can tell immediately that he was very customer oriented. As far as prices go, he was more than fair compared to the other bids. As a matter of fact I expanded the scope of his work to include a new water heater too. All the equipment supplied was 100% new, still in the factory cartons and the installation work was TOP QUALITY. Ray not only sold me the job but he did the installation too. He and partner Ken, and their assistant (3 man crew total) worked very professionally and effectively. Needless to say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.

A blockage in the ductwork may prevent air from flowing through the vent. If some rooms in your home are very hot or cold and another isn't, that can be a sign that a vent is blocked. Another sign of a blockage is a buildup of dirt or dust around the vent. In either case, a duct installer or cleaning service can investigate the issue for you and recommend a course of action.

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.

You can protect your air conditioner in the winter by turning off the power at the thermostat and performing routine HVAC maintenance in the spring. Regular maintenance, cleaning, and repair of your AC unit helps protect it and extend its life span. If you have a window AC unit, remove it from the window and store it in a dry place during the winter. Window units cannot withstand freezing temperatures. Keeping them in your window also allows cold air to seep into your home.

Yes, a dirty air filter can cause a higher electric bill. That’s because clogged filters make it harder for air to flow through your HVAC system, which forces it to work harder and use more energy. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, replacing dirty filters can save you between 5% and 15% in utility costs.
