"The installers were extremely considerate of my home. Had anointing installed on my back deck and an awning installed on my front upstairs roof terrace. To access the roof Terrace they used ladders. Never step the foot inside the home. Service and workmanship were exceptional"

"Luigi Masonry did an excellent job removing and replacing our concrete sidewalk in Corona, Queens, on a busy street. The entire process was fast, seamless, and carried out with great attention to the safety of residents and neighbors. Despite the challenges of working in a high-traffic area, Luigi and his team handled everything with professionalism and care. We’re so glad we chose them—they were detail-oriented, efficient, and truly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend their services!"

"My experience with Dart has been amazing from start to finish. The sales representative was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable and confident to pick them as I had gotten a few estimates prior for an aluminum awning. Dealing with the office was great, and the process was fairly fast. I would recommend dart for anyone that needs an awning."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, it can be worth screening a porch if you live in an area with beautiful weather, since it allows you to enjoy your outdoor space longer in the spring and summer. The additional protected space may even attract more prospective buyers if you intend to sell—especially if you add seasonal features, like a ceiling fan for summer or a heater to winterize your screened porch.

Building a sunroom is usually less expensive than the cost of building a home addition, but it depends on the type of sunroom. A four-season sunroom will cost more than a home addition because it’s basically a home addition with larger, more expensive windows. All other types of sunrooms will be more affordable than a home addition of an equivalent size because they don’t have insulation, heating, cooling, electrical connections, or plumbing.

The average cost to enclose a patio to create a sunroom is around $5,000, and prices generally range from $3,000 up to $10,000. The price you pay will depend on the state of your patio and whether it needs repairs or additional structural support, the quality of the materials you choose, the size of your patio, and whether you plan to run utilities into and finish the sunroom. The price for a fully finished patio enclosure could run up to around $20,000, while you might pay just $2,500 for a screened-in porch.

Yes, but ensuring the deck has a solid foundation with adequate footings is critical before building, as the weight of a sunroom will put significant pressure on the structure below. Even if your deck is properly constructed, it may not be able to handle the extra weight. While some basic, lightweight, prefabricated sunrooms can sit on a deck with a strong existing foundation without additional supports, in many cases, the foundation and joists will need reinforcement. It is always best to have a structural engineer perform an inspection to evaluate the deck's quality and structural integrity. A professional can help you decide if reinforcement is sufficient or if it's better to tear down the deck and start over.

Whether a prefab sunroom is worth it will depend on each homeowner’s unique needs and preferences. Overall, prefab sunrooms are a wallet-friendly, speedy, and reliable option for individuals looking to get some vitamin D in a simply-designed yet sunny space. Not to mention, sunrooms can increase your home’s value and the enjoyment you feel at home.
