"I used Luigi Cotumaccio Masonry Contracting to do concrete and stone construction on the front and sidewalk of my home. He is professional and honest and is a man of his words with a keen eye for perfection and quality work. He made suggestions to our original plans that came out better than we expected. In the future will not hesitate to use his service again and suggest him to others. He has a great team."

"ABDUL WAS VERY RESPONSIVE TO OUR EVERY REQUEST. THIS COMPANY WAS ABLE TO BUILD OUR DECK OVER A CONCRETE PATIO EVEN THOUGH OTHER CONTRACTORS EITHER SAID IT COULD NOT BE DONE OR THEY WOULD HAVE TO BUILD A 3 OR 4 INCH STEP TO GO OVER THE CONCRETE. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE."

"We had brick work done. We had some masonry work done and his name is Mohammed and the name of the business is Salient Construction Incorporated. He did a good job. He left some debris in our gutters and that was the only complaint I had. He was timely. I will use them again in the future as the back wall needs thorough sealing. I have already spoken about it but it is probably going to be another year before I need it and that is not his problem. I don't think I need it just yet but when I do that I am going to probably call him to do it."

"I called Bobking Construction because tiles were â droppingâ off in the bathroom on a rental apartment due to water entering through grouting holes. After removing a number of tiles and backing board, I discovered the bottom framing on the window sill was wet and decided it may involve more than I was prepared to do. So I called Bobbie Saturday afternoon and explained the problem and added that my tenant will return from vacation Monday evening. If he wasnâ t able to accommodate me on such short notice, Iâ d understand and would make the repairs as best I could. He asked for photos, which I sent and he said heâ ll call in the morning. Sure enough, he called Sunday 9am morning and then 2 hours later showed up with Giovanni, a family man and very experienced at his trade. They assessed the damage, agreed on a course of action and started work immediately. Work was completed before 5pm and the tile job looks fantastic. What can I sayâ ¦ again and again, Bobbie and company have done everything theyâ re supposed to â ¦ and more. Iâ ve had the pleasure on more than one occasion to have work done by Bobking Construction and in each instance; the key words for my â takeâ on the experience has been quality, reliability and integrity. Regardless of the project, whether pouring new pavement, carpentry/construction, bathroom tile, the results are the same. As if that werenâ t enough, the bill was remarkably fair and honest. If you want an honest dayâ s work for an honest dayâ s pay, look no further than Bobking Construction"

"The entire project took one week. The driveway was completed in two days and the masonry steps in three. The entire project went well with Ravinder's workers cleaning up after themselves each evening. The workers appear to take pride in their work which showed in the product produced. Ravinder is a good manager who was mostly onsite and on top of things. My sole gripe is Ravinder could have done a better job in reassuring my concerns regarding cement in cold weather that I found on the internet."

"We are SO happy with Sal and his team. Sal’s price was very reasonable and he communicated with us from start to finish. His team was on time and stayed late each day until the project was completed. Either Sal, his son, or his wife was on site each day. After starting, we asked Sal if he could take down a tree for us and his guys did it right away, leaving no sign of the stump. They did an amazing clean-up when the project was completed - even hauling away clutter and mess that was there before they started! They also returned days after the project was completed to put down grass seed. We LOVE our new patio, walkways, and pool deck - the pavers look beautiful!! We’ve already asked Sal to come back and give us an estimate on masonry work in the front yard!"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

No, you shouldn’t lay bricks directly on dirt. While it might seem like a shortcut, it leads to a patio that shifts, sinks, and becomes a maintenance headache. Dirt expands, contracts, and erodes—none of which mix well with long-term stability. To build something that lasts, excavate the topsoil, compact a layer of crushed gravel, and add a coarse sand-setting bed. This layered base gives your bricks proper support, allows drainage, and helps block weeds from creeping through. Cutting corners here just means you’ll spend more time—and money—repairing your brick patio later.

They offer durability, aesthetic appeal, and resistance to weathering compared to concrete or asphalt.

On average, a well-built brick mailbox can last between 30 and 100 years. The insert that holds mail inside the mailbox may last 15 to 25 years before it needs to be replaced. If a mailbox needs to be fixed due to damage, make sure you know who to hire for brick repair.

Yes, it is essential to prime or seal a brick fireplace before painting. Brick is a porous and highly absorbent material, so without a primer, paint can seep into the surface, resulting in uneven coverage and allowing the natural brick color to show through. To avoid this, apply one or two coats of a masonry primer. The primer will seal the brick and provide a smooth, uniform layer for the paint to adhere to. Ensure the primer is completely dry before applying the topcoat of paint.

On average, a quality exterior brick stain can last between 10 and 20 years, and sometimes even longer. While it will look its best for a minimum of three to five years, its total lifespan depends on several factors. These include the quality and type of stain used, the condition of the brick, and the thoroughness of the surface preparation, such as proper cleaning. Following the manufacturer's application instructions and applying a sealant as a final step is also crucial. The stain's longevity can be affected by your location, climate, and the brick's exposure to harsh weather, high traffic, and other elements. Over time, the stain may begin to fade or look dingy due to weathering, erosion, dirt, and debris. Compared to paint, brick stain generally has a longer lifespan.
