"As a Building & General Contractor myself Newgrange electric is one of my best electrical sub contractors. Eddie the owner is very hard working. Always reliable, extremely professional and maintains an office manager Nicole who knows what's going on, on all their projects so you always have someone to contact during business hours. Eddies crew is based of long time employees that are very knowledgeable in there work. Eddie will always get back to you even after business hours, which is not the norm for many vendors. We need more contractors like this. Joe Algeri, Orchard Builders & Construction & Skyline Plumbing & Heating."

"Came to my house the same day and completed the job. Mike the electrician was a nice guy and did a good job. $200 the first hour and $100 each additional hour. Changed existing ceiling fan, switches and outlets. I already had the parts, took 3+ hours, cost almost $500 with tax. Not sure if this is standard. I called them after another electrician who was supposed to come that day canceled."

"I used Fielack on February 21 to reseal the electrical service on the outside of my house to prevent water from entering, and to replace the lighting fixtures outside the front and side doors. The job was more complicated and time-consuming than anticipated requiring boxes to be exposed/replaced but everything was explained to me and Jimmy was courteous and professional, and called to indicate his ETA. I was confident the job was done correctly. I have used Fielack on other occasions and have always been satisfied with the work that was done."

"I live in Queens and had Tom and Nick come by for a variety of electrical jobs, ranging from smaller items such as installing new switches throughout the house to rewiring of an electrical panel. They did an excellent job, and when my old electrical panel gave out, they were able to install a replacement pretty much on the spot."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Upgrading electrical systems in Locust Valley enhances comfort, safety, and home value. Modern wiring supports smart home features, reliable power for home offices, and efficient pool or landscape lighting. Installing whole-house generators and surge protection increases storm resilience. Thoughtful lighting design can highlight architectural details unique to the area, while updated panels ensure your home meets today’s demanding electrical needs.

Helpful?

In Locust Valley, you can safely replace light switches or outlets after shutting off power at the breaker and confirming with a voltage tester. For homes with older wiring, be alert for brittle insulation or unusual wiring colors, which are common in historic properties. Always check if your HOA or local codes require a permit, even for small jobs. For any main panel or outdoor electrical work, call a licensed electrician.

Helpful?

When hiring an electrician in Locust Valley, prioritize those with experience in older home wiring and complex estate layouts. Ensure they’re familiar with local permit processes and inspection standards, especially for coastal properties or those governed by HOAs. Look for professionals skilled in smart home systems and generator installation, as these are highly valued in the area for both convenience and storm preparedness.

Helpful?

In Locust Valley, homes with thick masonry, original plaster, or intricate layouts—like estates with guest cottages—often require creative wiring solutions. Finished basements, attics, or radiant floor heating can further complicate access for electrical contractors. If your property is in a historic area, extra steps for permits and careful preservation are common. Outdoor projects may also involve navigating mature landscaping or installing underground wiring.

Helpful?

The longevity of electrical work in Locust Valley depends on using corrosion-resistant wiring and fixtures to handle coastal air, as well as adhering to strict Nassau County codes. Regular electrical inspections, especially in homes with aging infrastructure, are crucial. Choosing an electrical contractor who uses premium materials and plans for future upgrades—like smart home integration—helps ensure your system remains safe and adaptable.
