"As a Building & General Contractor myself Newgrange electric is one of my best electrical sub contractors. Eddie the owner is very hard working. Always reliable, extremely professional and maintains an office manager Nicole who knows what's going on, on all their projects so you always have someone to contact during business hours. Eddies crew is based of long time employees that are very knowledgeable in there work. Eddie will always get back to you even after business hours, which is not the norm for many vendors. We need more contractors like this. Joe Algeri, Orchard Builders & Construction & Skyline Plumbing & Heating."

"Came to my house the same day and completed the job. Mike the electrician was a nice guy and did a good job. $200 the first hour and $100 each additional hour. Changed existing ceiling fan, switches and outlets. I already had the parts, took 3+ hours, cost almost $500 with tax. Not sure if this is standard. I called them after another electrician who was supposed to come that day canceled."

"I used Fielack on February 21 to reseal the electrical service on the outside of my house to prevent water from entering, and to replace the lighting fixtures outside the front and side doors. The job was more complicated and time-consuming than anticipated requiring boxes to be exposed/replaced but everything was explained to me and Jimmy was courteous and professional, and called to indicate his ETA. I was confident the job was done correctly. I have used Fielack on other occasions and have always been satisfied with the work that was done."

"I live in Queens and had Tom and Nick come by for a variety of electrical jobs, ranging from smaller items such as installing new switches throughout the house to rewiring of an electrical panel. They did an excellent job, and when my old electrical panel gave out, they were able to install a replacement pretty much on the spot."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical projects in Glen Cove can impact HVAC, plumbing, and security systems, especially in older properties. If you notice flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or reduced power when adding new appliances, your panel or circuits may be overloaded. A professional assessment is recommended to evaluate panel capacity, grounding, and code compliance, ensuring all interconnected systems in your Glen Cove home operate safely and efficiently together.

Helpful?

In Glen Cove, NY, homeowners are increasingly choosing smart home upgrades like whole-home automation, WiFi-enabled panels, and integrated security systems. Many update historic homes with concealed wiring and period-appropriate fixtures that meet modern safety codes. There’s also a growing demand for luxury features, such as outdoor kitchen wiring, pool and spa systems, and electric vehicle charging stations, along with energy-efficient upgrades like LED lighting and solar panel integration.

Helpful?

Electrical systems in Glen Cove need regular maintenance to prevent salt air corrosion and storm-related issues. Schedule annual inspections for outdoor wiring, test GFCI outlets and surge protectors quarterly, and check exterior fixtures every six months. Before hurricane season, ensure generators and backup systems are operational. For older homes, arrange professional inspections to identify moisture or corrosion early, helping keep your Glen Cove electrical system safe and dependable.

Helpful?

The coastal climate in Glen Cove increases the risk of corrosion on electrical components due to salt air, so choosing marine-grade wiring and corrosion-resistant fixtures is essential for long-term reliability. Nor’easters and hurricanes can damage outdoor wiring and cause outages, making surge protection and weatherproof enclosures critical. High humidity and temperature swings also require extra moisture barriers and careful planning for outdoor or basement electrical projects in Glen Cove.

Helpful?

Begin with a professional electrical assessment and load calculation to determine if your Glen Cove home needs a panel upgrade. Obtain the necessary permits from local departments and coordinate with utility providers for any service changes. Schedule work during milder weather, ideally before hurricane season. Select contractors experienced with coastal conditions and historic properties, and plan for marine-grade materials, backup power solutions, and sufficient time for permit approval and material procurement.
