"I have had the pleasure of working with Joe Lupo from VT Home for two of my homes. In the city, we converted a two bedroom to a one bedroom with large formal dining room as we enjoy entertaining and hosting dinner parties. His attention to detail and discerning eye and excellent resources took both of our homes to levels we never dreamt of. One thing that set Joe apart from other designers that we interviewed both for East Hampton and Manhattan was that he really listened to what we wanted and understood how to fine tune our natural aesthetic. He also shared that he has a background in finance from many years ago so he not only has the creative gene but knew how to keep us on track and most importantly he is a PLEASURE to work with. He does high-end extremely well and on point. We would highly recommend Joe. - Howard W."

"Danny and his team did an amazing job. It's been a few weeks, but we still look around and comment on how glad we are to have hired Danny. First, he seemed to actually care about the house when he came by to give an estimate. We could tell he cared about his job as well when he commented on colors and noticed things like the trims and ceilings. Other painters just nitpicked on whether we wanted x, y and z painted in each room. With Danny, common sense prevailed and he knew we just wanted everything painted.
He helped spackle and patch up holes and cracks that were here w/ the previous owner. He even fixed things like an uneven trim that was hanging low, and missing trim near the bottom of the floor in the master bedroom. Those things bothered me when we got the house, but I thought we'd just get them fixed "one day." Well Danny's a perfectionist. Without us even asking, he offered to fix them and did such a great job. He has such an eye for detail and helped transform this place from an old house to one that feels new and fresh.
He was also really patient as we took time to pick our paint colors. He had his guys work on other rooms when we couldn't decide on a few rooms. When we stopped by, his guys were always nice, friendly and respectful of our home. We were happy with how Danny and his crew really cared about their work.
The paint job itself is beautiful and neat. It just feels like a completely different house, and we have Danny to thank for that. One other huge positive - the cleanup job. We were around the last day and were struck by how much time they spent cleaning up the place including vacuuming. They left the house immaculate, and even stayed til midnight to do so. We worked with another contractor prior to Danny, and they left the house such a mess that I was beyond upset. But like I said, Danny's a perfectionist so he was the complete opposite. Hire him - we would again, without a doubt.

"Everything went great! Ronda has an excellent eye for design, listened to our ideas and needs, and provided her own ideas that we didn't even think of. She also took us granite and tile shopping. She created a few layouts for us to choose from, and she worked with us to figure out which one worked best for us. We used her contractor, Steve, and his crew, who did a great job as well. This was our first remodel, and we were a little nervous about it, but they let us know how they were doing the whole way through. The end result is gorgeous! We were so pleased with Ronda that we plan on using her again for a bathroom remodel!"

"I was not satisfied with the plan that BHR Interior Design gave. I don't feel that they listened to our budget and what the goals of our project were. They provided us with two options to move forward and only one of them seem to speak to what we needed. I gave them some of the same feedback that going with them gave some constraints that we were going to live with such as we were only allowed to use their cabinet company. Their cabinet company was remarkably more expensive. Why would somebody spend almost $50,000 on cabinet for a company who's never really heard of. Again, couldn't find anything bad about it but couldn't find anything good about it. It was just not attractive for my husband and I, we wanted to make sound decisions. The design was beautiful but it was just wasn't what we were looking for. It took a long time to come up with the two option. I will probably not use them again."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

While the Arts and Crafts movement inspired many architectural elements, the primary styles from the time include Craftsman, Tudor Revivals, bungalows, and Mission homes. You'll see elements of these styles in homes, churches, museums, and schools—particularly Country Day schools from the era.

Costs depend on project complexity, materials, labor, permits, and required revisions.

Universal design is a design concept that states that products, spaces, and general environments are designed to be used by everyone, with an emphasis on accessibility for those with limited mobility or other special needs.

Most interior designers have at least a four-year degree, if not an advanced degree in interior design. Additionally, many states require interior designers to be licensed. If your state does not require licensing, interior designers can take a licensing exam with the National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ). Overall, licensing requirements vary from state to state, but most licenses require certain education levels and experience to qualify. To check the qualifications of your interior designer, use Angi’s state licensing tool.

Many people, including professionals in the field, use baluster and spindle interchangeably to describe the vertical components of a railing (or technically, a balustrade). However, there are subtle or distinct differences, depending on who you ask. The most common interpretation is that spindles are thin or delicate versions of balusters.
