"Kim and her crew worked on a remodel of our house which included turning our unused dining room into a new office/bedroom and the other half an entry room for front door, they relocated oue front door, removed huge window and installed new uodated window, built a new shelving system for our pantry with new flooring, installed a new bathroom exhaust, insulation and repairing water damage from roof, and filling in the missing pieces in our kitchen floor (we had a bad previous contractor and she fixed a lot of his mistakes among other things. Her service is reliable, friendly, and ontop of that the work she does is fantastic and affordable. I won't ever choose a different contractor moving forward. She's done pressure washing of our porches and lots of little and big things in our home. Next project built in bookshelves and a playroom of my kids dreams with monkey bars rock climbing wall and swings. I can't wait! Thank you so much Kim. We love our home ð"

"I could not manipulate the 90 degree turn around my staircase in order to move my queen size mattress into my upstairs bedroom. Every contractor told me that the baseboard would have to be split down the middle, then folded in half which would weaken the support when nailed back together. However, the Danco handyman removed the staircase railing and easily transported the mattress intact. No disassembly required. The railing was replaced without difficulty. The cost was under $70. He was honest, skilled, fast, careful and trustworthy. Job well done. I would hire him for future home projects."

"We discovered we could not give them access to the outside of the windows, because the screens could not be removed. They came to do an estimate and we would definitely had hired them if we could have resolved the screen problem."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

There aren’t many alternative methods to hanging Christmas lights on fascia without using clips. But if you don’t have fascia clips to hang your Christmas lights, you can use clothespins in a pinch. To do this, hold the strand of lights in place and clip it in place with the clothespin. Using nails or staples is never a good idea, as they can damage your fascia.

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.

Heavy amounts of snow could be a problem. In many climates, lots of snow on your rooftop can lead to freeze-thaw cycle that create ice dams, which can damage rooftops. But if you’re using shingle clips, this snow poses an additional problem: As it melts and freezes, it can easily dislodge clips you’ve placed on your roof.

You can clean snow off your roof after a fresh snowfall while it’s still lightweight, but brushing off snow can also dislodge your clips. If you get a lot of snow, then roof clips become less viable.

You can tackle hanging Christmas lights yourself with the right tools, accessories, and a trusted friend or neighbor. You’ll need to purchase a ladder ($100 to $300), clips ($10 to $20), hooks ($10 to $15), and lights ($25 to $100 per string).

Otherwise, you should hire a trusted holiday light installer near you. You’ll pay an average price of $200 to $650, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and safely.

Considering the pros and cons of hiring a professional holiday light installer can help you decide if it’s right for you. Here are some advantages and disadvantages:

Pros

  • Saves time

  • Reduces stress

  • Produces for custom, high-quality designs

  • Provides better-quality lights

  • Reduces personal safety risks

  • May Include takedown and storage services

Cons

  • More expensive than DIY light installation

  • Less control over the design

  • High demand for installers

  • Contractors may keep the lights and decorations
