It's been years now and I'll never forget how wonderful the folks at Warm & Fuzzy were! Our ancient oil heating system was spitting out soot & had become so cost prohibitive that it was cheaper to simply run our electric space heaters all day. Even then, the cold in our little log home was so bad that we sent our godson to stay with his grandmother while we stayed holed up in our bedroom. The water heater was so bad that the shower would start to cool down after 3 minutes & be ice cold in 5. W & F not only helped us get the financing we needed, but since we teach, they agreed to start installing on our Christmas break so we'd be warm for the holiday! By then, my husband had come down with the flu & I was just starting to feel feverish & sick myself. They STILL came, despite my warnings! They had to reroute our duct work and everything, and I'm certain they let themselves out when they finished, since neither of us remember the moment they left! :-) I have no idea if they ended up catching what we had, but they checked back in with us to make sure we were okay, both physically and with the job they did on the system.

Overall, the project went smoothly, at least in terms of Warm & Fuzzy's involvement in it. This was a big project. I was converting my home from a double back to a single-family layout, so all of the heating had to be tied into a single system. W&F removed both of the previous furnaces, replaced a significant amount of duct work, installed a new, single furnace for the entire house, and installed a central air unit, which was a new addition to the house. The summer of 2018 was the first summer in the house with central air, and what a difference it made! The house was far more comfortable and there was less damaging humidity in the house. The new furnace system has kept the house warm for 2 winters now. There was an additional contractor who was supposed to remove some duct work containing asbestos, but they blew me off repeatedly, which delayed the project. I do not hold W&F accountable for the other contractor's actions, nor does it impact my review for W&F. Everything was completed about a year and a half ago and there haven't been any issues since then.

CALLS ITSELF: [WARM & FUZZY HOME HEATING AND COOLING 1111 NIAGARA STREET BUFFALO,NY 14213] Should now be known as “COLD & ICY” My first encounter was with Warm & Fuzzy The first install was at 167 Mackinaw st. Lower Buffalo N.Y. 2014 The 1st installer had his own mind set and tried rerouting duct work to make his job simpler giving no heed to asthetic appeal of installation as long as it was quicker for him. I brought this to Jeff’s attention and he sent another installer that was willing to stick to the install design. However in doing so he cut a mistake hole about 1 foot by 8” for a misplaced vent in the dining room. He then proceeded to turn the distribution tube to the top [so his mistake would’t be noticed] and sealed the said mistake with a bigger patch and gobbed with silicone. Then when going into the living room the first installer wanted to put a 90* tube to the middle of the room and shoot a vent downward into the living room. That is when I requested a different installer and I personally had to take down the paneling [because my word wasn’t good enough] that there was no wires or obstrucions to continue the run through the wall and into the living room. With a reduction tube to keep the flow sufficient. Jeff was very easy to work with and made up for the mistakes and miscalcualtions as well as the ignoring of requests on where it needed to be installed for maximum performance as well as within confines of old structure of building. Then there was a condensation problem and again Jeff corrected it and apologized for all the mistakes and confusion. When I vehemently objected to having a new system put in with a 1 foot by 8” patch from installer error. The second install I had done was 7-14-2015 invoiced and paid on 8-12-2015 At 177 Mackinaw st. Upper. Everything went well this time. Plus I already had a chimney removed before hand for air return duct work and electrical and gas lines all run to the furnace in the attic and electrical to the air unit outside. I then had a third unit installed at 167 Mackinaw St. upper. When I was informed the install was completed and I arrived later that day. Only to find they never installed the vent into the bathroom. Giving me some bogus excuse as to how that couldn’t be installed there because it was to close to the attic angle. When I pointed out that the bedroom vent was exactly the same distance as the bathroom would be that they needed to once again stick to the signed off pre approved design. Once again putting project way over completion date. Now all the units have been working fine. And the 167 upper apt. is the exact same design, and layout as 177 including rooms, ceiling heights, and room dimensions. And the unit at 167 has been working properly and continued to do so as well as the lower unit throughout the extreme cold spell of Dec 2017. The unit at 177 however dropped to 48*--52* which is when I called to see what was wrong and have it checked. They came and checked it all out it had new batteries in the thermostat, new air filter in vent. The only thing he found was a loose high intensity wire [which is inside the furnace module] As soon as this was tightened it has worked again ever since. It was then I received a bill for $257.74 [SERVICE DISPATCH FEE $99.00 AND DIAGNOSTICS $138.00] He didn’t do the diagnostic before he tightened the High Intensity wire but after he tightened it. And so it showed proper temperature flow [had been restored] We have had no problems once again after the loose wire inside the unit was tightened. They suggested that the problem was the vacant apartment below was the problem of heat staying on the ceiling. However the apartment below has been vacant ever since the install and worked fine until the loose High Intensity Wire needed to be tightened. They suggest modifying the duct vents with booster fans in the supply air ducts. Which we did consider but the furnace has worked perfectly ever since the High Intensity Wire was properly secured. When I called to question the billing I found out Jeff no longer worked there and he was always the reasonable one who was willing to compensate for their mistakes, errors or delays. So I spoke to Casey and told him I felt this was a ridiculous amount to be charged for a loose wire inside the unit that I had no possible access to and that either it should have been double checked at the installation or brought to the manufacturers attention. And that I thought the appropriate charge would be to meet me halfway. [in case it was lack of quality control on manufacturers end] But again should be checked at installation when unit is in pieces. It was installed in the summer so the focus was on the air conditioning and not the heating. So when I suggested the halfway point Casey’s response was no way it worked before, And quick to remind that the invoice date of August 12, 2015 was past the two year warranty date. I wondered why Jeff was no longer there. And I also wondered why the commercials on television have stopped [I guess I got my answer] I apologize to anyone I recommended to them And I hope no one else has experienced what I have But will certainly never go through it again Please forward this information to all your facebook, twitter and Instagram accounts so that this doesn’t happen to any of the other trusting hardworking people in the Buffalo, New York and surrounding areas This kind of workmanship and denial of any responsibility to problems and non concern to correct them is certainly not deserving of any local patronage. Also anyone else with their own horror stories involving them please feel free to post.

"Hello [Member Name Removed] - thank you for the feedback. We felt it was important to to explain the circumstances and charge for the most recent call. We sent an emergency technician out after-hours and he was there helping you for three hours. Not only did we not charge you overtime labor rates, but we did not charge you the after hours dispatch fee. The wire that our technician found loose and tightened was strictly maintenance work that could've been an issue in the future, it in no way affected the function of the furnace that night. The unit was operating normally and within specifications. Unfortunately, the apartment below was unoccupied and unheated and the heating vents in the occupied apartment were on the ceiling. Without the ceiling fans on the hot air was just not moving through the space enough on a week where the temperatures were in the single digits every night. Our technician did make the recommendation of installing booster fans to help force and circulate hot air away from the ceiling. We regret that the experience was this bad on your end, but we do feel confident with our performance and recommendations."

I spoke to a very nice person at the office and asked if the company serviced the area I was calling for in the southerntier. I was assured they did. I waited 3 days before calling back to check to see if perhaps I provided an incorrect number and again spoke to a same person. She looked up the information and confirmed all the info and assured me the number was correct and that she would remind them abut my request. Week 3 and not a single phone call or message. Very unresponsive which to me means unprofessional. Why would anyone want to deal with a company that fails to return a simple phone call? Even if they didn't install the ductless units I was looking for a quote on or perhaps I was told wrong that they didn't service that area, a true professional would call back. I live right in Buffalo which is why I called them and I'm disappointed that this is how a Buffalo based company conducts themselves.

They're in the area here and they were quite good. They did a good job on the installation. They also put a flue inside the chimney. They had to do a little bit of work on that to get that at the right angle and did a pretty good job with that, so I was very happy with them. The price was good and they actually made a mistake when they quoted me. So you can either get stainless steel on that flue that goes up the chimney, or you can just get regular metal. Stainless steel lasts a lot longer, so when he was quoting me the price, he said it would include stainless steel. When they came to do the job, they had the other kind of metal and it became apparent that when he quoted me, he made a mistake when he quoted me. He quoted me the price that should have been with the regular metal, but I specifically said it was stainless. But they honored what committed to, so they changed it and they put in the stainless steel for the price of the regular metal, which was probably about an $800 difference. So I was quite happy with them. They were very responsive. For punctuality, they were great; they showed when they said they were gonna be showing up and they stayed till the job was done. They cleaned up after themselves really good.

He came and looked at it and told me the price on the part. He ordered it and got the part very expeditiously because it was very cold at that time. He installed it and cleaned up everything and I was very happy with that. I called the company on Friday and he had the part on Monday. I have them on speed dial.

We had a furnace and air conditioner all brand new set taken care of and duct work put in which cost us quite a bit of money. Last year, we called them and they refused to come down during the week. It was supposed to be on the weekends because they said they could not do it during the week anymore. They wanted to come down on the weekends and charge me for weekends. They have extra charge on weekends. I was pretty angry about that. They could have come down here during the week where the price was not so high because all I needed was like a furnace cleaning and stuff like that. It was just to check the furnace.

He was very polite, and ran into a snag, because of how the previous contractor cut the tiles.
But with alittle ingenuity, he knew what to do and it worked out perfectly!

I found them through Google search.  They were very prompt; it was an emergency because I think it was a Sunday and they had sent a repair and to our house in I think an hour or two hours and it was fixed within like four hours.  We paid more in terms of being an emergency but it was January and our broiler definitely needed to be repaired because we have a seven month old at that time so it needed to be fixed.  So he came and fixed it and it was done.

I give a "B" fo price only because it was an emergency.

It went really well. They did the air conditioner too. The air conditioner was like two or three years ago. They were very nice. They had this really nice promotion where they provided financing for the air conditioning, the three years no interest. We called a month after it was over. They were just like, "You know, we'll just give it to you anyway."
