We're a Land Surveying business located on Long Island. We specialize in a full range of surveying services including: title surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and site plans. We are able to complete land surveys in a shorter time frame and at a more competitive price because we utilize the latest in equipment/technology and are very diligent in our research practices.

"We hired scalice to do a survey of our new home. They sent workers that were new, unsupervised, and did not speak English. The workers broke huge branches off of about 9 ever green trees that were 30+ years old. The company even agreed that the new workers did not properly complete the survey and only offered a small discount on return - no one called, no one showed any compassion. We now have lost much of the privacy these trees provided. I would never use this company again."

We are a multi faceted surveying company that delivers quality surveys for a wide range of applications. We acquired the records of Richard C. Drake, Lindenhurst, NY. We now have over 50 years of surveying records. We are dedicated to exceptional service. Our success is our client success. We fulfill all of our customers needs and strive to exceed their expectations.

"Initial survey was fine. I needed an updated survey to close out permits after purchasing a new home and Joshua wouldn’t return phone calls, voicemails and emails. I’ve been waiting since 8/27/24, it’s now 11/7/24 and he still hasn’t come back to update the survey 2 1/2 months later. I’ve been more than patient and respectful in my communications, just ridiculous!"

Land Surveying questions, answered by experts

A land survey can take anywhere from a few hours to a month or more, depending on the size of the property, the type of survey, the property’s accessibility and topography, and the availability of historical property records. A simple boundary survey to determine a fence line can be completed in a day while surveying 50 acres of undeveloped woodlands may take weeks or longer.

Pros will assess your soil type, property geography, and rain patterns for optimal slope.

Costs vary, but you can expect to spend between $1,000 and $4,000 to prepare land for a mobile home or before you build a house. You’ll need to clear enough land for the foundation, which may require leveling or grading, as well as removing trees, stumps, and plants. Don’t forget to plan for permits and fees and the installation of a gas line, water line, and sewer main.

Several government-backed lending programs can help first-time home buyers purchase a home with little money down. FHA, USDA, and VA loans are options for qualifying borrowers, though many conventional mortgage lenders will lower down payment rates to as low as 3 percent.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.
