They got here today and I noticed the white windows and told them they were not going to install them. The truck they showed up in was leaking transmission fluid all over the place, it was not a Window World truck. I think the truck belonged to one of the kids they sent here to install the windows and he could not have been more than 25 years old. The supervisor told me they use 6 different installers and they don't have to send the same ones out. That really concerns me. I called them to cancel the order on the 23rd of July, and I found that you can't talk to a real person. Left multiple messages that I wanted to cancel my order before they started doing any work. Never heard back from them until today, they left a message wanting to schedule a new installation date. I called back, was able to speak with Lori who passed me off to Kathy the supervisor. Kathy told me they are not going to cancel the order. They are trying to force me to take the windows and they will not give my deposit back even though no work has been done. They want me to take the incorrect windows and paint them myself. They actually offered to supply the paint, again, you can not paint these kind of windows. I just wanted the agreed upon order to be completed, which is not going to happen if they try to force me to take these windows. They were also supposed to install main-frames, never saw any on the truck. They also had many, many hidden charges. Anything you do to the window costs extra.
UPDATE
I took them to small claims court on November 24, 2013. The ruling was that Window World weaseled out of it since they never put a final delivery on the product. I would NOT recommend them! This was a no win situation to me and the court backed them up. I cannot stress enough to run in the other direction from them! They know enough about the law to lock you into a deal so they can run off with your money and get away with it. Every time I tried calling this company I received a voice mail. The only way I got a response was after a reporter was banging on their door with a microphone and camera."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ny/buffalo/window-world-of-buffalo-reviews-295878.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Havenhouse Upholstery","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"NY","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Susan S."},"reviewBody":"I rated the cost as N/A because we did not shop around; I chose this vendor because he was highly rated on Angie's List, but do not know how his bid and final costs compare to others. We had 6 wooden dining room chairs which were my grandmother's (so at least 60 years old, as she died at 90ish); wooden backs, seats worn through and what appeared to be kapok stuffing falling out here and there. Not particularly good quality chairs I don't think, but of sentimental value to me. We also had another, nonmatching wooden chair which I wanted reupholstered in a matching fabric. All had dings and scratches and occasional loose joints, and we had put sticky felt on the bottoms of the legs to avoid scratching our dining room floor. I telephoned to ask if he could do the job, phone was answered promptly and pleasantly by Mr. Hayden himself, appt made for us to bring chairs to him the following day (a Saturday in early June 2013). I did not have upholstery cloth picked out, he said fine to get it elsewhere (he could tell us how much needed after seeing chairs) or he had some we could look at. Address he wanted chairs brought to was different from that listed as Havenhouse Upholstery on Google (it appears on Google as Havenhouse all one word); appeared to be his home when we got there. He had a furniture-filled workshop in his back garage which is where we dropped off the chairs; he had about a dozen different rolls of upholstery cloth of different patterns/fabrics in the back of his minivan and we chose one we liked from that selection (I am perfectly happy with what we chose, but do not consider myself a picky shopper in matters of style -- durability and stain resistance more important as we have kids, and he recommended some of what he brought as more durable than other fabrics, we chose from those). Estimate was $575 for reseating/upholstery/stain guarding and $200 for repairs to chairs (he said refinishing was not recommended for chairs like these, and that was not our focus anyway), paid by check $250 deposit. He said it would take several weeks. Late June I called to check and let him know we would be unreachable for a week, he said he was almost done. As arranged he called me after we returned to arrange pickup, appt made for next day. He stated repairs had been more extensive than estimated and would be an extra $75 (I made no quibbles). Place to pick up was another different address. I had to call to confirm address twice (trouble entering into GPS) but each time Mr. Hayden answered right away himself and was immediately helpful. and quot;Haven House Upholsteryand quot; or similar not seen on signage of building at that address when I arrived so I phoned; he drove to where I was (took 1 minute) and led me back to a storage unit containing a workspace and lots of furniture including our chairs. He helped me load up and I paid remainder by check to him personally, receiving receipt with both Haven House Upholstery and his name at the top which lays out work done nicely but does not include tax line (I have to assume sales tax was included in the price). Quality of the work: seats look great, very comfortable to sit on with good firm/soft balance for both me (short and fat) and husband (tall and thin), fabric fits tightly and is beautifully folded over corners and evenly trimmed underneath, a lot better than the original seats even before they wore through. The fabric we chose had a herringbone pattern which would show minor faults in alignment easily and this was perfectly aligned on each chair. Wood had greatly diminished ding/scratch appearance, still present (as expected) but have to look a lot harder to find them. Joints very stable now, no leaked glue visible (if he used glue; I didn't ask how he made repairs). Unasked, he had replaced the sticky felt pads under each chairleg with the same color and thickness we had used. Overall, I am very pleased with the work quality. Timing and what would and could not be done was all accurately explained in words I could understand. Cost was a bit more than original estimate but I believe the chairs deserved this as he hadn't tested the joints a lot before making his estimate, and this is not a visible problem. I had expected more of a storefront experience given the name and quot;Havenhouse Upholsteryand quot; but reaching and dealing with Mr. Hayden was easy at all times. My only concern is the lack of evidence of having paid sales tax on the receipt, which I did not notice until I got home. I would use him again if needed; he seems to be a real craftsman who cares about quality and that is well worth putting up with a slightly less-than-slick business demeanor. First of all, the man in charge of all ground work told us he would build up the ground where the trailor would be sitting, this was not done as the trailor sits on a flat depression. After she delivery, there were no steps for her to get inside and I called them and they said she would have to pay an additional 500.00 for steps, 2100.00 for a driveway, pay for an electrical meter, outside wiring, water system, and a septic system. None of these additional charges were mentioned before signing and while I understand that many people would not assume/or assume these were included, my mother did ask SEVERAL TIMES about any additional fees, the manager told her \"oh we will take care of that later\" \"dont worry we will do this or that'\". When we found out the additional charges, we found free driveway and water hookup since my mother is an elder. She paid seperate for the electric (1600.00) A few weeks after the home was delivered, the manager called my mother is tell her he needed an additional 6500.00 to install the septic tank as the bank did not approve for the full asking price of the home and she would need to pay the extra cost. (This was done without my knowledge, only after the fee was paid by money order did my mother let me know.) I called Owl homes and was told the same thing. I asked owl why wasnt this done in the office, they told me that the bank only approved a certain price and they needed to get their fee. I told them that this was not explained to us before hand, that she would be responsible for the septic system, the driveway etc. I personally and my mother felt there was some hedging going on, and i could not get a satisfactory explanation, I was talked to like I was a dumb woman who needed things explained to her like a five year old. So I called my brother who called the owner and complained. In the meantime, my mother was told that the bank would be calling her to ask her some questions regarding the loan and to be sure to tell the bank, if they asked, that the septic tank was included in the deal and that it was already put in along with a set of stairs and a deck. My mother told Owl she would have to call then back. After considering whether to lie to the bank, (as no stairs or deck would be built by Owl homes per their statement) she called Owl and told them she was not going to call the bank after all. The manager called me and left me a message stating, \"i just called your mother and she said she was not gonna call the bank so we can get our money after we already delivered the trailor out there. Thats a pretty crappy way of doing business.\" I called him and then called my mother so we could have a 3 way conversation. The owner and the manager got on the phone and I told them that my mother did not want to lie to the bank. Owner said \"we are not asking her to lie, but if the bank asks if we did install the septic and the stairs and deck to say yes\" This sounded like a lie to me. When I told them it was up to my mother and I had nothing to do with it, the tone of the conversation on Owl Homes part became hostile. Owner---\"I can just come and get my trailor off the lot rite now! This is no way to do business\" My mother chuckled to herself and I guess he heard her and yelled out, \"this is no laughing matter. You have your brother call and tell me we are not delivering what we promised to you.\" I then told them that they had failed to let us know in the begining, that there would be all this extra expense, steps, driveway, electric. Owner says \"oh yes we did tell you.\" I said \"no because I asked what would be done and none of this was mentioned.\" owner says\" yes i told your mother all this\" i say . \"No because i was there everytime.\" Owner says, \"oh there was a time when just your mother came alone and we told her this\" (my mother is elderly and does not drive, which i informed him. \"oh then she came with her sister and I told her then. ' my mother says \"ive never met you.\" Owner, \"yes u dont remember.\" Mother says, \"okay then what did i look like.\" owner says, well you have gray hair.\" (my mother dyes her hair black) she tells him, \"no I dont have a gray hair on my head.\" The owner then begins yelling again and I interupt and tell him that he should be ashamed to talk to some one, a customer like that, especially asking her to lie to the bank. and that I heard enough. The bank was told by Owl homes that the home they were selling my mother was a brand new out of the factory model and they got full brand new price for it, while my mother got a show model home with nail holes in the wall, stained carpet, toilet that did not flush, loose sink fittings, missing panelling, a hole in one of the closets, shabby, falling apart skirting on the outside and loose rooffing. We have given Owl homes a list of things to be repaired and so far only the tar paper on the roof has been nailed down after several rain storms. There is evidence of the trailor shifting (the closet doors do not shut, the back door does not shut right and will pop open, the front door does not shut right and the front screen door is falling off the hinges) and sinking into the ground even after I was assured that once the trailor was set it would not shift and not sink. Because they did not build up the foundation, the water pools during a rain and runs right under the trailor. They left the yard in a mess, they did not properly install the skirting, nor do we have stairs or a deck built by them. My mother had to pay someone to do this and have a ramp built because of her handicap. We have given Owl homes a chance to right this but as of this date no one has even contacted us. I purchased an Angie's List Deal last year. On the initial visit, it turned out that our HVAC unit was in too small of a space for them to get their equipment in (it's located inside our small storage unit in the basement). They let me know that they could do the work, but that they would...

Tony, the owner, came out to do the estimate himself, and his professionalism and thoroughness in describing the work to be done (backyard drainage), and the benefits of using his company, ultimately won me over. The price was more than fair and his crew was top notch and completed the work on schedule. I highly recommend!!!"

FAQs for basement leak repair projects in Irving, NY
The cost to finish a basement is $18,400 for the average homeowner. However, this cost could be as little as $2,800 or as much as $34,500, depending on the basement size and the materials needed. If your basement is already outfitted with electrical and plumbing, expect the cost to fall on the lower end.
For example, the drywall cost for this project averages around $1,750, but other features, like hiring a plumber, cost between $45 and $200 per hour.
The cost to remodel a basement is between $12,100 and $33,400 for the average homeowner. The price you pay can be as little as $3,500 or as much as $50,200, depending on the size and condition of your basement and the type of remodel you're doing.
If you're doing a simple project like adding a home office to your basement, you can expect to pay anywhere from $500 to $3,000. However, if you're adding a bathroom, which is an extensive project, you can expect to pay between $6,600 to $16,500.
Damp proofing and waterproofing are both methods to help keep your basement dry. Damp proofing keeps soil moisture from entering your basement, which is helpful since your basement is underground. Waterproofing, however, keeps both soil moisture and liquid water out of the basement, which is essential, especially if you live in a wet environment. Because it’s more protective, waterproofing typically costs more than damp proofing.
Although homeowners often use the terms basement remodeling and basement finishing interchangeably, they are quite different terms.
Finishing a basement is the process of taking a basement space that is not habitable and adding elements to make it usable. This includes adding plumbing, flooring, and insulation.
Remodeling a basement means taking an already existing finished basement and changing it, often by adding or removing walls, adding plumbing, or changing the existing flooring.
The cost of basement waterproofing is $4,950 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying between $600 and $14,000, depending on factors like basement size, waterproofing method, and the region you live in.
If you live in an area with heavy rainfall, you might be paying more for waterproofing than if you lived somewhere drier since waterproofing contractors would be in high demand. Likewise, a 500-foot basement costs between $2,500and $5,000 to waterproof, but that price rises significantly for a larger basement.
