He double-checked the steps I'd already performed to diagnose, and then went much further, isolating the control board as the culprit. So far so good. The diagnostic cost $147. They don't have the model control board I'd need in stock, so they'd have to order it. The estimate for the board + replacement was over $950. I checked online and the control board costs $106 at SupplyHouse.com ($96 from Amazon). I'm a capitalist. I have no problem with companies making a reasonable profit on parts + labor, but that seems excessive to me. I decided to purchase the part from repairclinic.com and replace it myself."
