"Master plumber Paul did an amazing job! He replaced two old and seized valves, replaced a leaking outside faucet, and repaired a power flush toilet with a bad check valve. He is easy to work with, very knowledgeable and thorough and finds solutions when unexpected issues arise. He is now my number one go to plumber for all future work."

"Moved heavy boiler up difficult site. Installed in one day. Very professional and patient in detailed explanations of complex zoning issues. Prices are high in Dutchess Co. compared to other areas of NY. I generally think plumbers are a safer bet for a maintenance plan and longer lasting businesses than most HVAC companies."

"There aren’t enough superlatives to express how pleased I am with Scott’s work. Believe me I know how frustrating hiring any service person is. Scott was fantastic. He said he would be here at 9am and miracles of miracles he was! He said the job would take 2-3 hours and he had it done in 2.5. I had him remove and install a bathroom vanity with stone countertop, faucets and large medicine cabinet. It came out beautifully. AND he hauled away all the old stuff and the packaging from all the new stuff. It was like he was never here. As if the bathroom gods just granted me a perfect bathroom. Do yourself a favor Hire this company. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Scott."

"I feel SO lucky that I was able to find Angela. It was really important for my husband and I to find somebody trustworthy because we had a LOT of work needed in our house. We interviewed 5 different contractors, and for each one, I asked the exact same questions about the renovations to see how their responses change. Angela was by far the most honest and knowledgeable. There are contractors who say they can do anything, but DONT BELIEVE THEM. That's when you end up in situations where budgets get out of control, and worse, you have a sub-par product. I found Angela's price to be very reasonable for the experience and work that she produces. Angela's guys (Billy / Jason / Rob) were always on time, and very respectful. They kept the area very clean. Because my husband is immune compromised, they also always wore a mask. What I liked best about Angela and her guys is that you can tell that they have had experience because they were able to provide good sound advice for the reno (ex. where I should put the shower head etc). Even though there were some additional costs that were unexpected, it was nothing that was outrageous, and Angela was always very great about being fully transparent, offering us other options (that won't need money, or a expensive vs inexpensive options) so that we felt like we had a choice. Angela really truly cares for all of her customers, she always stops in to check the work to make sure that they are up to HER standards, even if to me, it's not a big deal. She has been working at our home for the last 9 months, and I feel like she is now one of my friends because of the care she gives me and the trust I have in her. There is MORE to do at my house, and I will definitely be hiring Angela again. If you are able to get on her calendar, I highly recommend it!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

A toilet flapper will remain open when the chain that it is connected to is too short. The chain should lift the flapper just enough to allow it to open the rest of the way on its own. The chain should have just about half an inch of slack.

Boiling water helps unclog a drain, but usually only with a harder abrasive such as baking soda or vinegar. On its own, it isn’t the most effective tool. In addition, you shouldn’t use boiling water if you have PVC pipes, as it can soften or melt them. Use a plunger or enlist the help of a pro if you have plastic pipes.

Yes, you can adjust your well pump pressure relatively easily by yourself. You’ll need to remove the cover from your pressure switch and adjust a nut that controls cut-in pressure. Learn more about how to adjust a well pump pressure switch with a step-by-step guide to setting your water pressure.

A good option for opening up and cleaning a sink drain is to use a ¼ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of white vinegar, along with a rubber stopper to cover the drain while those materials work their magic. After about 15 minutes, you can flush the drain with hot water. In many cases, these materials can scrub out minor clogs and get the drain working properly again. If the issue persists, call in a plumber near you to get the problem permanently fixed.

You can temporarily patch a leaking copper pipe using epoxy putty or adhesive tape. These are not permanent solutions, and you will eventually need to remove and replace the damaged portion of the pipe.

For a smaller pinhole, you can solder it closed using plumbing flux. Again, this is only a temporary solution, but it will give you time to hire a plumber and go over your options.
