"They did a good job. They were professional and they were able to get the work done. We were happy with the renovation of my bathroom. The workers damage my hallway floor, however, they were able to fixed it. I would recommend them to others."

"I used TKT Remodeling Group LLC for a complete basement remodeling. Treon had wonderful ideas about ways to make my basement function more efficiently. He was the only contractor who took the time to discuss ways to remodel the basement that made sense (e.g., moving the bathroom and closet) into spaces that increased our living space. Treon and his crew are friendly, respectful, punctual, professional, and responsive. He even surprised me with a new, functioning fireplace. I wish I had taken before and after pictures. I was able to go to work and leave the workers alone in my home with no problems. Even after my basement project was completed, I called Treon with questions, and he responded quickly. I highly recommend him and will use him again."

"Words cannot describe how well these guys did and everything they worked with us on. We had several small jobs and deck work. They painted our high vaulted walls and ceilings. They fixed our shower plumbing and added an acces panel for the shower. They installed a new ceiling fan. They re-faced our rotted deck and replaced several joists. Replaced both sets of stairs and set them in concrete. Amazing woodworking, professionalism, punctual, truly good people that you can actually trust. All work was done in a very timely fashion. We will definitely hire again for various projects around the house."

"The process and the completed work exceeded my most optimistic expectations. If you're reading this review, I assume you're in the same position I was in last year: you have a construction/renovation project and no idea who to hire. Well, today's your lucky day. You've found Ernie of EH & Sons! I had never heard of him either until a couple told me how pleased they were with the work done in their apartment. I was very impressed when they showed it to me, so I met with Ernie the following week. Confession-------I am a skeptic by nature, especially when it comes to trusting service providers. But I immediately found Ernie to be very capable, professional, and responsive to my needs. He got back to me the following day with a detailed plan how to renovate a space which was out of date and in poor condition. We negotiated a price and signed an agreement to perform the work. He had great ideas and suggestions, but always deferred to me on what work would be performed. His crew arrived promptly on the agreed upon date, and worked tirelessly over the course of that month. They were always professional, polite, and thorough. Ernie always was in touch with me discuss work progress and answer my questions or concerns. When problems arose like the need to reroute a gas line during the kitchen renovation, he brought in another licensed expert to do it. But at no time did he ever try to renegotiate the agreed on price or scope of the work. A few times I walked onto the site unannounced, and the crew was always hard at work, on one occasion installing a sub-floor in the new kitchen. The transformation of the old bathroom and kitchen was amazing, functional, and beautiful. They restored the wood floors, repaired the windows, painted the walls, installed new countertops, all new appliances and lighting, and even put new blinds up for the windows. When I finally put the apartment on the market, I had a buyer within hours. Look, I could go on and on about the work, but the bottom line is this------do yourself a favor and consider EH & Sons for your next project. If you want high quality work from a professional you'll trust, contact Ernie."

Customers say: True professional

"We were fortunate to have come upon Tom and his crew. Tom was hired to renovate the bathrooms, tidy up the kitchen, restore the closets, install new electrical lighting, and paint the entire apartment. His expertise, dependability, responsiveness, and communication are all excellent. Tom and his crew did an excellent job, arriving on time, making intelligent ideas, and being really dependable and safe. We are very pleased with the work he completed and would definitely use his services again in the future."

Garages FAQs, answered by experts

You should lube your garage door components every three to six months depending on how frequently you open and close the door. Lubricant helps keep garage door components operating smoothly for longer; you can expect a much longer lifespan out of a garage door when you properly care for it, including frequent lubrication. Regular maintenance is much more affordable than the cost of replacing a garage door prematurely.

If your garage door seems to freeze every winter, you can try rubbing silicone spray or petroleum jelly around the edges and rollers of the garage door. However, it’s a good idea to avoid direct application of silicone sprays like WD40 to rubber edges, which could damage them over time. A garage door that frequently freezes shut could need a full replacement, especially if it’s showing signs of rust or other wear and tear.

You’ll usually need to prime a garage floor before painting—especially if the floor is unpainted. Garage floors are made from concrete, which is porous and produces dust. The dust can contaminate the paint and cause issues with adherence.

Primer creates a barrier and gives you a clean surface to work on. It also minimizes absorption to help give you an even, pro-looking paint job. Make sure you choose a primer that’s specifically designed to cover concrete flooring.

It’s possible to use a torch to melt ice on your garage door, but we don’t recommend it. It’s very easy to bring the flame too close to the door, which can melt the weather stripping or even the garage door itself. You’ll melt ice quickly with a torch, but the damage you’re likely to cause can end up costing you a few hundred dollars to fix, which isn’t worth it. Instead, we recommend pouring hot water over the frozen area or using a less intense heat source, like a hair dryer or space heater.

Garage door insulation can last anywhere from 20 to 100 years depending on the type of insulation. Cellulose has the shortest lifespan coming in at between 20 and 30 years, while spray foam, mineral wool, and fiberglass can last between 80 and 100 years with proper maintenance.

Humidity plays a role in how long more susceptible insulation materials—like fiberglass—last. Once fiberglass batts reach the 15-year mark, you'll need to routinely inspect your insulation to ensure that it is in mint order.
