"Ryan, when I called him to cancel his appt to estimate the job of cleaning my gutters due to the fact that the first provider who came examined the gutters and said they needed no cleaning or repairing, complained that he had already paid homeadvisor for contacting me ($20, I think he said). I called Homeadvisor at his request to let them know I had canceled the appointment so that maybe he could be refunded that money. Apparently, providers are not supposed to ask customers to call on their behalf for this - there is a provider credit service available for them to use. All in all, the exchange kinda left me somewhat uncomfortable."

"Great! Stephen (owner/operator) was very knowledgeable and professional, and excellent at communication, which can be rare these days. He did a thorough cleaning, took photos as he went along, and explained in detail what he encountered during the cleaning with regard to gutter conditions, pitch, etc. Cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. We will definitively be using 1st Choice again."

"The painting went very well. John Alden did such a nice job on a neighbor's house that I hired him to repaint our Cape Cod style house. The pressure washing and application of stain (Benjamin Moore) were completed in good time, with high quality finish on siding and trim. They took good care of the surrounding garden while working and cleaned up well when done. All of the team were very pleasant to have around. Overall an excellent experience."

A deck that isn’t attached to a house is called a floating or freestanding deck. These standalone decks are built near ground level, so they usually don’t need deck stairs.
