"This was the second project that I have Patriot take care of for me in the past 3 years, the first being a bathroom remodel. Both times I have been very happy with the results and plan on using them for future projects. My kitchen remodel that was recently finished involved a total renovation. The demo was done in one day and I was very happy with the care they took not to damage my wood floors and walls. the installation went as smoothly as you can expect when you do this type of project. The tile work ( floors and backsplash ) was done very well and the carpentry ( crown moldings and trim ) was excellent. When everything was done with the kitchen I had them do some painting and install 2 storm doors. Again the work was done to my satisfaction. Most of the work was done by one worker and yes it does take a little longer to complete the work. However I would rather have one person who knows what they're doing than multiple workers who may be more concerned with getting to the next job. As anybody who has had a project like this done unforeseen problems always pop up. On both my projects options were given to me and solutions provided in order to solve these problems. I will definitely use these folks on future projects."

If you plan on doing multiple coats, multiply the square footage by the number of coats to calculate how many buckets of stain you’ll need.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain. 

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.
