"I purchased all the necessary materials myself. All they had to do was install. I was charged $75 $68 with the 5% off coupon) for less than 1/2 hours worth of work. That translates to $150 an hour ($142.5o with a 5% discount). I like PPHI, but that price for a simple install (which I could have done myself or had my neighbor do for free), I feel is very overpriced."

"I am writing this review after originally giving Jimmy a very positive review. Unfortunately, about one month after installing my roof I noticed the shingles were bent and raised up off the roof. It did not look good or new.
My inspector came to look at the roof and noticed some faults in the construction of the roof.  Jimmy himself agreed that it did not look right but he was unsure as to why. After much talking he denied that he did anything wrong and said the roof looked as good as it could look and it wasn't leaking.  And if there was ever a problem he would come back and fix it.  Now, I do believe he would honor his warranty (that I have no doubt).  The problem is the roof was not leaking when he tore it apart and built me a new one either so that should not be the threshold for whether or not he did a good job.
He went on to give me 5 different reasons for why the roof shingles were rising and falling and bending week by week.  The biggest one was this was an old house and this is the best it could look. And the heat from the sun would eventually "settle the roof".  None of these concerns were brought to my attention before the job started.
In short shingles should not rise and fall on the roof and shingles on a BRAND NEW roof should lay flat.  These two facts are indisputable.  My inspector told me over time the shingles will crack from the movement and never last the 30 years Jimmy promised me.
Until the roof is fixed property I need to leave my low rating.

UPDATE:  When the summer months came the roof finally settled as Jimmy predicted it would.  Everything looks fine now and I have upgraded my rating to a B.  It took longer than I expected but I was in constant contact with Jimmy the entire time."

"Atlas James made the entire process easy and efficient. They invited us to their shop to pick out a slab, educated us on differences in product and cost. Brandon came out to template and helped brainstorm about edges and gromet placement. And when it came time to install, they had it done in no time. Would definitely recommend."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Removing old tiles can be more complicated, but it can also be more manageable, depending on your circumstances. Typically, old tile is hard to remove because the adhesive had loads of time to bond with your wall, becoming a formidable foe between you and your new tile installation project. On the other hand, old tile in high-traffic areas can become loose, making it much easier to remove.

Larger tiles can be difficult to install because they’re heavier and bulkier than their smaller counterparts, which makes them harder to haul around and put in place. Plus, if you don’t install the tiles correctly, they could crack or break. For these reasons, it’s best to hire a professional for large-format tile installation.

When tiling over concrete, you should install an anti-fracture membrane after the concrete has been prepared. The anti-fracture membrane acts as a moisture barrier and should be installed to protect the tiles from moisture which helps maintain their integrity. Often, Ditra, a brand name, is used interchangeably with moisture barrier.

The easiest tile size to install is large tiles, and they’re easier to install than small tiles—the job is faster and simpler when there’s less placing, adhering, and grouting to do. However, when tiles get really big, they’re more difficult to handle, cut, and fit. Standard floor tile sizes are 12-by-12 inches, 18-by-18 inches, and 12-by-24 inches.

No, you don’t technically need a cement backer board for a wall tiling project, but not using it risks disastrous moisture damage. Cement is naturally water-resistant, whereas drywall soaks it in, which can lead to warping or mold growth. Always use a backer board treated with a waterproof membrane for bathrooms and other chronically damp areas to ensure complete tile shower waterproofing.
