Turned out after very brief inspection of the plumber that the sewer drain outside was partially blocked. Very quick and very professional job done to clear the blockage using all the right tools. "The project: Frank's Basement Systems installed new drain tile around about 75% of my basement. They also added their BrightWall in a few areas. Pros: First of all, the project was completed, and I'm very pleased to say that the drain tile seems to be doing it's job. When it rains I'm not seeing any water in the formerly-problematic corner of the basement, so that's a big success. I'll add that our salesperson Ray was an absolute all-star to work with. He did not try to upsell us, and he stayed in communication after the job to make sure we were satisfied. He really made us feel like he wanted what was best for us and our home, and we tremendously appreciated that. Cons: The whole crew called out on the second day what was supposed to be a two-day job, so it ended up taking much longer than we hoped. That second day was a Friday, so we were stuck with the basement a mess over the weekend and into the next week, which was tough. The drain tile had to go under the stairs to the basement and those stairs were absolutely demolished and had to be replaced. They told me while they were on-site that it was going to be my responsibility to replace them which left me without the bottom three stairs to my basement for a couple of weeks, but ultimately they connected me with a contractor who put new stairs in for us. During the job they accidentally caused a leak in one of my steam pipes, but they also helped me find a company that would replace that as well. Lastly, they left the basement a dusty mess. In fact, we still have to wear specific shoes into the basement because even after vacuuming and mopping a few times, it is still so dusty, and that dust gets tracked to the rest of our house if we leave our "basement shoes" on and go anywhere else. Overall: Frank's gave us a good price and, again, we sincerely appreciated Ray's guidance before and after the job. The most important thing is that the drain tile is working, so despite a few challenges we are satisfied with the outcome. We will be calling Ray back in a couple of years when we need to do the rest of the basement...hopefully some of the dust will be gone by then!!"

About 6 men did the work. They were very organized. They covered the path from the door to the basement where the inside work was done. They were polite, professional. The foreman kept us abreast of progress. He did took seriously questions that my wife and I had. He did not talk down to my wife. They moved and covered up everything in the basement with plastic. I had moved a lot of  stuff out ahead of time. They dug about a one foot wide trench along the inside  perimeter of the basement, installed drain pipe and re-cemented with several vents. The pipe runs to the new sump pump. They did repairs and drainage on the outside perimeter as well. Everything was hooked up to pre-existing storm drains. The work took three days.

My only mild complaint is that the utility sink in the basement pitches slightly forward, and so it does not drain as completely as it should. I did not ask them to fix it.

We had this done in response to water in the basement. We did not have a sump pump prior to this and had 9 inches of water in the basement last February. We have not had much rain, and so I cannot verify that all is OK, but it seems to be at this point.

"Tim the plumber on the job was on time and very professional.  He looked at the problem (roots blocking the storm drain) and spent several hours drilling out a clear waterway to the main line in the street.  He indicated that a more thorough cleaning through power blasting would be necessary to get it running through a larger opening and that the roots of the tree in the front of the house may have disrupted the clay pipes.  We scheduled the power cleaning for the following week.  He offered discounts with the purchase of a protection plan which reduces the service call charges and provides additional discounts on work in the future and since I just bought the house and know I have more jobs that will need to be done in the next year I took advantage of the deal.

"Romeo was on the job every day.  His workers were professional and courteous.  Romeo went the extra mile in providing service.  He not only sealed the new concrete, but sealed the house perimeter on the driveway side, as well as the whole driveway.  He sealed the foundation at the back of the house, too.  He even helped my neighbor fix his concrete steps, at no charge! We were so impressed and pleased with the caliber of service, that we hired him to paint our house.
