"Miguel and his crew did an excellent job. Miguel reviewed what we requested before starting work and made several suggestions. They pruned and trimmed several large trees. I was surprised by the amount of large branches and debris. When they were done there was nothing left on the lawn. I would highly recommend Miguel Tree Service."

"I met with Miguel from Two Climbing Tree Service on Saturday to receive a quote. The appointment was scheduled for 10AM, but he showed up at 9:40 (which impressed me as I appreciate punctuality). He gave a very competitive quote and hired them. He showed up yesterday to remove four trees, three were mature (2 oaks and a hickory), grind the stumps and prune one other tree. Miguel and his team of 4 started work at 8AM and worked straight through until 4PM with no breaks, even in 90+ degree heat! They did a great job taking down the trees, grinding the stumps and cleaning up. They worked very hard and were a pleasure to deal with. I highly, highly recommend them for the services they performed. Brian"

"I called Vinny from Woodvalley for a couple of trees to be removed from my property. I was working with a budget and he did not hesitate to work with me to get what i wanted done . He not only removed a few branches that were dead and shaped other trees on my property at no charge , His crew was fast , efficient and left my property just as clean as before they started. I highly recommend him and his company."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

After a big storm, you may not be sure if a tree was struck or not. Look for the telltale long scars, like strips or gouges in the bark of the tree, running in sometimes jagged lines down the length of the trunk. These scars will often show vulnerable living wood inside the tree. It’s also common to see scorched or wilted leaves on the side or top of the tree where lightning struck.

No. Most of the time, suckers are only a sign that the tree is experiencing stress. However, they can also be the canary in the coal mine, letting you know that something else is stressing your tree. If you have lots of suckers on your tree, calling in an arborist or a tree care expert is always a good call to determine the cause and develop a solution that de-stresses your tree.

You can remove a small tree from your yard if there’s space for the tree to fall, you have the right tools and safety equipment, and you follow a clear plan of action. You’ll just want to follow the steps above carefully, and ideally, you will have experience doing similar tasks. If you have any doubts that you can do this project safely, though, you should hire a pro.

Generally speaking, you’ll want to avoid flush cuts, which are cuts made as extremely close to the trunk or main branch. These cuts can weaken your tree, lower its natural defense mechanisms, and even cause decay. You’ll also want to avoid tree topping, which is the total removal of the leader and upper main branches of a tree.

Most pros will advise against either of these methods, which is why hiring a pro is often the best choice when it comes to tree trimming.

It is good to spray water on a Christmas tree to help keep the needles hydrated. Spraying a Christmas tree with water prevents dryness, stops needles from falling off, and reduces the risk of fire.
