"I would hire this company over and over again! Humberto, his son and their guys are amazing! Our bathroom and laundry room had gotten water damage due to a backed up sewer line. Humberto, his son, and their team replaced drywall, baseboards, primed and painted both rooms. They redid the laundry room floors, and the vanity in the bathroom. Everything looks amazing, and we have already discussed with them if they can redo the rest of downstairs, paint upstairs and my kitchen cabinets. They are VERY NEAT workers, always cleaning as they go. They’re reliable, trustworthy and you can tell they aren’t just in it for the money. Humberto is really compassionate."

"Cannot tell you how pleased we were with Claudio, Bryan and the crew's work. They were responsive and shared all details throughout the project. They removed old drywall, tile and hearth tile and panelling in living room. Installed new drywall, wonderboard above fireplace, retiled hearth and tiles above fireplace and painted new drywall. timely, efficient and perfectionist with all details. Will use again when the need arises. Great work!"

"Can’t say enough good about Rich and Louis! It’s incredible to find people with such professionalism. They were on time, updated me daily, let me know work scope for each day, cleaned up every night and did exactly what I asked. They were flexible when I added things and tried different things to find the best solution for difficult plasterwork. Pricing was very fair, they are worth every penny!! It was a great feeling to hand him my key and not worry about my home. Such a fantastic process and my home looks amazing!"

Small jobs welcome

"We originally hired Humberto and his crew to do some dry wall jobs for us Their work was so good The crew arrived on time The men are efficient and very neat. They sweep up ! They are non smokers This is important to me as I have asthma We also ended up using them to remodel our Master Bath. They are definitely tile masters. The installed the vanities And put up the lights. This re model was not the first remodel my husband and I have used contractors for . HR Tile is the best . Quality work. On time as promised. Excellent value for the cost . This is a family run operation . The entire crew are professionals. I can t say enough about how happy I am with the work. I m using them again. For smaller jobs ."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Whether you apply the drywall mesh before or after drywall mud depends on the type of patch it is. For self-adhesive patches, you’ll put the patch down first and then coat it with mud. Mesh patches that are not self-adhesive will require you to put mud down first and then press the mesh into it, followed by additional coats of mud.

Yes, drywall can hold a 50-pound TV. However, when mounting a TV, you’ll either need to attach it to wall studs or use drywall anchors. If you use anchors, make sure to buy a type that can hold at least 50 pounds. Molly bolts, threaded anchors, and toggle bolts are all good options. For extra support, you can also install a wall mounting plate with the anchors.

There are six levels of drywall finish, from 0 to 5, that refer to the amount of work performed during the finishing process.

Level 0: Drywall is hung with no finishing work.

Level 1: Tape is placed over the seams between drywall sheets.

Level 2: A thin layer of mud is applied over the tape and screw holes. This level is common for utility rooms or walls that will be covered.

Level 3: A full coat of mud covers the screw holes and tape, but the surface is not sanded. This is often used in garages.

Level 4: This is the most common finish for visible interior walls. It involves applying two coats of mud over seams and screw holes, with sanding between each coat, creating a smooth surface ready for flat paint.

Level 5: This is a high-end finish for luxury homes. It includes full taping, mudding, and sanding, plus a final skim coat over the entire surface before painting.

Cracks, water damage, and holes from fixtures or impact.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.
