"The service performed was the application of StablWall to a bowing wall of our basement. Gerry did an excellent job, from explaining the process, warranty, and paperwork to applying the product. The cleanup was excellent as well. In total, he made 4 trips to our home, and was always on time. This is the second time we have used Everdry services. The first time was to have a trench dug around the inside perimeter of our basement to prevent water seepage. This was around 4 years ago, and we haven't had a drop of water since. This company is not cheap, but we like their lifetime, transferrable warranty, which, I feel, increases the value of our home should we ever sell it."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

Removing calcium and lime buildup will often fix a clogged faucet head. You can usually remove any buildup with distilled white vinegar or a combination of vinegar, dish soap, and baking soda. Sometimes, the problem is buildup on the aerator, in which case removing and cleaning that part should fix your water flow. However, the design of some aerators makes them difficult to clean. For those, replacing the aerator will get the faucet flowing well again.

No, fixing or patching a hole in a gas line may not seal it completely. A patch should be a temporary solution because the damaged area will be weaker than the rest of the pipe, increasing the likelihood of future leaks. Therefore, if a gas line incurs damage, call a licensed plumber and have it replaced right away.

It costs anywhere from $150 to $850 to fix a pipe leak, but it could cost even more depending on the damage. The most common kind of pipe leaks, which happen from clogs or grease buildup, cost less than $300 to fix. A burst pipe tends to be the most expensive because it results in significant water damage. Expect to spend $400 to $1,500 to fix the pipe, plus $1,000 to $2,000 on water damage repair.

The main causes for a leaky toilet flapper include wear and tear or a broken or incorrectly installed toilet flapper chain. If your toilet flapper is torn or deteriorated, it can’t provide a proper seal to keep water from running. Meanwhile, a chain that has come loose, was moved, or just wasn’t installed right can prevent your flapper from fully closing.

There are warning signs that your copper pipes may be failing. These include discolored water, decreased water pressure, visible cracks and leaks, built-up green rust, and corrosion. If you know the copper pipes are reaching the end of their life span, consider having them replaced or at least having a professional assess your plumbing system.
